6 Things A Mystic Can Do For You

Thinking about the purpose of your existence in this universe is a thought that every person thinks about. It’s also common to question if there’s an afterlife. All these mysteries of life have boggled people for a long time, and they’ve attempted to find answers to the eternal questions to find out the ‘truth’ or uncover the secrets to life.

And, finding more about the hidden secrets of the universe is what mysticism is all about. Religion, spiritualism, and even science aim to discover more about people, life, the world, and even the universe. However, unlike science, mysticism goes beyond what you can prove, which is why many people are uncertain about it. Still, science has a long way to go in terms of discoveries and understanding, and, perhaps, in the future, mysticism and science can intersect

Mysticism Throughout The Times

Mysticism has been around for a long time, and it’s interesting to see it transcend time, culture, and geography. The etymology of mystery or mysticism substantiates just how it has evolved and passed on throughout the ages.

The word ‘mystery’ came from the Middle English word ‘mystic,’ the Latin word ‘mysterium,’ and the Old French term ‘mistere.’ Going further back, these three words were also derived from ‘musterion,’ which is Greek. These terms refer to a hidden religious symbol or a mystic presence.

Being open to mysticism can change how you perceive yourself and how you connect with the rest of the world. If you’re more open to it, then you might be able to experience a mystical experience. People, in general, can have a mystical experience, but a mystic person has a more profound and fuller understanding of it.

Indeed, mystics have been around for a long time, and there are, probably, certain people throughout history that you didn’t know were mystics. Joan of Arc, Confucious, and even Pythagoras are only some of the well-known mystics in history. Nowadays, there are still plenty of mystics, but as Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar says, a true mystic will never call themselves a mystic. But, strangely enough, you can tell that many spiritual leaders are mystical persons, regardless of religion or beliefs.

What Mystics Do

The great thing about mystics and mystic masters is that they’re generous about sharing their mystical experiences and journey. One reason for this is that they want more people to go through the same freeing, deep, spiritual, and transcendental awakening.

And, perhaps, the bigger intention for this is to promote mutual peace between peoples and the cosmos. Here are some ways mystics do that:

  1. Help You Become Enlightened

Enlightenment can be a vague term, but the mystical experience in itself is difficult to express with the limitations of language. It’s best likened to the philosophical sense of ‘being.’ And, when you experience enlightenment through mysticism, you deeply comprehend who you are and your connection to the universe. Reaching this enlightened state can be difficult, especially if you aren’t open or connected with spirituality and mystical wisdom. In this case, learning from a mystic can help you understand how you can start your mystical journey.

  1. Learn Skills For Mystical, Spiritual, And Metaphysical Experiences

To become enlightened, it’s essential to learn the wisdom, processes, and skills needed to achieve it. These practices didn’t just pop out of nowhere. It’s developed and learned by mystic masters. Others are even passed down through generations; nonetheless, it can be difficult to master these skills.

Some mystic masters devote their whole lives to it because the mystical journey is lifelong. Furthermore, some teachings can be difficult to comprehend or decipher, especially if they’re ancient. So, mystics need to keep humbly learning everything that can help them further uncover any hidden secrets in the world.

  1. Teach Others

Whatever the mystic has mastered or learned, they impart it to others who are willing and open to be taught. They do this by passing on wisdom that can be applied in daily life, or through actual exercises that can be done to help you achieve a mystical experience.

  1. Guide You For Personal Growth

All these steps, skills, and teachings are meant to mold you to become better. In essence, finding out more about these hidden truths is intended to make you a better person. And, becoming a better person will help you feel more relaxed, peaceful, and happy. It can allow you to understand your purpose and relationship with the world around you. Knowing your purpose will then lead you to have a more meaningful life, which can allow you to make decisions that will serve your purpose, too.

  1. Encourage And Inspire People

Perhaps, this is where you see how mystic people demonstrate how to use mystical knowledge by leading through example. Their teachings aren’t for show or to develop a following. Mysticism is core to their beliefs and lifestyle. And, there’s no better way to see how to use these mystic experiences correctly.

An amazing attribute to mystics is how they become humbler throughout their mystical journey of enlightenment. This, in itself, is a lesson of how enlightenment and mysticism aren’t a boasting matter. Instead, it’s a tranquil experience.

Their humility, wisdom, and selflessness, without making it a spectacle, can inspire so many people. Even if you’re skeptical about mysticism, philanthropy and basic kindness without expectations of any return is a sight to behold.

  1. Promote Understanding Among People, Countries, Religions, And Races

The mystical experience is similar throughout the world regardless of the differences. A case in point is how Jewish, Islamic, Indian, Christian, Taoist, and other mystic variations describe the mystic experience in similar ways.

Enlightenment transcends social standing, nationality, race, and religious beliefs. It’s coming into contact with the ineffable, regardless of whether your belief calls it God, the universe, reality, or truth. Once you understand and experience this, it’s easier to live as part of the world than with other people with whom you share the world.

Conclusion

The world is full of mysteries, and there’s a mystic in everyone, especially once you start questioning existence and the universe. Mysticism might sound like some magical or fantastical concept, but, in reality, it’s a very human concept and experience. Some people are more open to mysticism, and others are masters of it. Although you might never hear them call themselves mystics, they’re very communicative about wisdom and how to live a more meaningful life.
