Avon Launches Hair Color in the U.S. - My Highest Self

Avon Launches Hair Color in the U.S.

If you color your own hair at home, you might be interested in knowing that Avon has launched hair color in the U.S.  Avon Advance Techniques Professional Hair Color is permanent hair color which claims 100% grey coverage.  Incidentally, this is music to my ears as recently I’ve discovered that I don’t have just ONE grey hair anymore…I have several!  I know, devastating.  Now I’m in need of 100% grey coverage.  SIGH.

The Avon Advance Techniques Professional Hair Color comes in quite an array of colors from Brilliant Blondes, Beautiful Brunettes, Bold Blacks, and (my personal favorite) Ravishing Reds.  I like that the kit includes a post-treatment with shea butter, too.

If you have never tried to color your own hair, you should give it a try.  The kits these days are easier to use and come with better quality products and after treatments, too.  It’s a hell of a lot cheaper than going to the salon and paying who knows what every four weeks!  Plus, it’s fun to take hair color matters into your own hands…like a mad scientist.  Uh oh, my weird is coming out :).

You can find Avon Advance Techniques Professional Hair color for $7.99 online or from a local representative.

Hey, did you read about my FREE makeover at Tricoci University of Beauty Culture earlier this year?

Let me know what you think about Avon’s new hair color, would you try it?  Do you dye your own hair, why or why not?  Leave a comment and let me know!

They sold hair color in the seventies. It was awesome.

I tried the mahogany brown and it made my greys and new roots purple.

Oh yikes!! Sorry you had a bad experience from this. What brand do you normally use for your at-home coloring?

!? I’m surprised avon would bother to release this type of product as there are already so many out there. I guess they could succeed with this in a country with a big population (such as you guys) but I can guarantee that would bomb here! PS congrats on the Aveeno ambassador stuff! 😀

I’m not too sure how it did in the UK but I’m guessing pretty good since they brought it over here? I’m interested in giving it a try, just to see. Thanks so much for the congrats it means a lot to have your support :).

This is awesome! I’ve always wondered when the US would launch hair color ever since I heard Sam of Pixiwoo mention that she uses Avon’s hair dyes.

Love Pixiwoo, they are amazing! I was impressed with the shade selection, too. Do you color your hair at home?

Yes I do, but I haven’t done it in a while. Thinking about dying my hair a deep, rich burgundy soon though. Hopefully Avon will have the color I want. 🙂

Oooo, that’s been my color of choice for a couple years now, try Feria Power Reds, my favorite shade has been R37 for a while now. Great color and you can make it last if you use one of the sulfate free shampoos.

What a good news! Avon has a pretty good selection of tones and I tried a light brown (6.0) on my mom’s hair. I wrote a post about it time ago, you can check it on my blog. I love so much the fact that there’s a post dye treatment inside the box and the tridimentional effect of the colour. My mom had some very strong white hair, I think we needed to leave the colour for another 5/10 mins more.
I hope you’ll like the Avon kit!
    Have a great day

Oh great, I will head over and read your post! I always leave the dye in my hair an extra few minutes also since my hair is thick and coarse. Now with the greys I will definitely need to leave it on a bit longer! Thanks for the comment :).
