Did You Know About These Beauty Sample Subscriptions? - My Highest Self

Did You Know About These Beauty Sample Subscriptions?

In my break from Birchbox, I have been on the lookout for other comparable beauty sample subscriptions.  I subscribed to for a few months and got a bit bored with what I was receiving.  Nothing against Birchbox, I thought maybe I would just take a break and see if 2012 brought anything new.  I’ve decided I have a good round-up of alternatives to Birchbox to share!

Beauty Army – US Only

This service is truly brand new, the first box just went out this month (January 2012).  You can choose up to 6 beauty samples for $12 per month.  Their claim is they are “the only subscription service that gives you the option to choose”.  Sounds good, right?  I’m also drawn to Beauty Army because I see a lot of brands offered that I would like to try:  SheaTerra Organics, Cover FX, and Rain Cosmetics to name a few.

There was a race to sign up on the first day this opened up and I missed out but this one is definitely on my radar for next month!

MyGlam – US Only

This service is a lot like Birchbox, you get 4-5 beauty samples based on your “beauty quiz”, for $10 per month.  MyGlam was created by Michelle Phan, a YouTube phenomenon whom you have all probably watched.

The first cool thing about MyGlam is the samples are packaged in a cute cosmetic bag.  What really, really caught my eye with MyGlam was the brands listed in the latest bag:  Urban Decay, NYX, and Tarte.  Urban Decay and NYX are two of my favorite brands and I have been wanting to try Tarte forever.  I was sold!  I signed up and should be on the schedule to receive the February MyGlam bag.

Loose Button – Canada Only

Alright Canadians, I am so jealous that the Loose Button Luxe Box is only available in Canada!  They do have plans to expand to the U.S. but no official date yet.  You get 4-5 deluxe beauty samples for $12 per month.  The brands featured in past Luxe Boxes include Stila, Essie, Benefit, Nars, Shisiedo and many more!  Can you believe these fantastic brands?  That’s why I’m so jealous!

The precise minute Loose Button opens up to the U.S. I am signing up, no joke.

Glymm Box – Canada Only

Glymm Box is a subscription service that offers “3-5 luxury samples that span over several beauty categories including cosmetics, fragrance, skincare, tools, spa and body, nails and lifestyle.”  This sounds quite different from the others in that they are offering more than just beauty samples, all for $10 per month.

TIP:  Search Google and YouTube to find what others have received in their subscriptions. It’s a good way to see which one might be a good fit for you.

I’m wondering if any of you are currently signed up with any of these beauty sample subscriptions and what you think of them?  Leave a comment and let me know if any of these sound intriguing to you.  If you had to pick ONE subscription, what would it be?

How about Voxbox from Influenster? You can sign up and you qualify for *free* boxes based on “badges” you “unlock” by completing short quizzes about you and your life. I qualified for the May beauty box, and it’s *FREE*

Hi Erin, I love Influenster! It just didn’t fit into this post about paid sample boxes. Search my blog and you’ll find several posts and reviews views on products I’ve received from Influenster. I’m really excited about the May box, too. Look forward to chatting more with you :).

Haven’t tried any of those yet besides BB…I have tried TestTube and loved it!

Hey Brianna! I’m hoping the MyGlam bag is a winner. I have heard about Test Tube and the $30 price tag kept it out of this particular post. I will have to search your blog to see if you did a review!
