Don't Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms by Kristine Carlson - My Highest Self

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms by Kristine Carlson

Kristine Carlson has authored another winner with Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms. As moms, we are usually stressed and think of ourselves last.  This book is an invaluable resource for moms that offers advice in finding peace within ourselves and reassurance that we are the best that we can be.

Personally, I found the chapter titled Moving Through PMS and Low Moods to be one of my favorites.  I struggle with low moods (as we all do) but some days seem harder than others, especially now that school is out for Summer.  It can be difficult keeping two children, ages 4 and 5, entertained for more than 12 hours every day!  In fact, it can be completely exhausting if you don’t take time out for yourself to recharge and breathe.  This chapter discusses learning to be aware and anticipate your low moods to plan for a better outcome.

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms can help moms with children of all ages and I love how Kristine shares so much about her own family.  It is filled with much-needed affirmations for all mothers that could be a real savior when you are having “one of those days”.  I will keep this on hand as a great way to recharge and relax for a bit throughout the day.

Some final thoughts that I took away from the book:  I will remind myself that I am not perfect and my children are not perfect.  I will take each day as it comes and not worry too much about the little things.  I intend to enjoy every smile and each giggle that I hear and try harder not to cry over spilled milk.  I am the best mom that I can be, right now, today, and every day.

You can purchase Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms from Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.
