How to Soothe Muscle and Joint Pain Without Pills

SoothePainJoint pain and stiff muscles is something that I deal with every single day. I have had issues with pain in my neck and shoulders for as long as I can remember. It is probably because I have made my living in front of a computer for over 20 years! The repetitive motions of typing and sitting in the same position wreak havoc on my neck, shoulders and back. Even though I have always tried to have the best desk, keyboard and chair set up, it has not always been possible. Each company I have worked for has had different working conditions. Now that I have been working from home for a few years, I try to make my work space as ergonomic as I can. The problem is that I still deal with the repercussions of sitting a computer every day for so many years. What that translates to is a constant stiff nick, and daily pain in my shoulders that sometimes carries down into my back. I have a few things that I do to remedy the pain without reaching for a pill and hopefully these tips can help you if you have a similar situation.

Review of Salonpas Patch

Relieve Pain Without PillsDuring the day, I reach for my Salonpas Pain Relieving Patch. This topical analgesic patch is perfect for me because I can target the exact spots where my pain exists. I will typically use two on my neck and two on my left shoulder. Those are the two areas that give me trouble when I’m trying to work. These patches use topical analgesics to soothe pain and help my neck and shoulders move with ease. That makes my day ten times better! These patches really work and I don’t even notice they are there. All I notice is is that my pain is eased.

At night before bed, I will use my percussion massager on my shoulders, neck and back. There are a ton of options out there, but the one I have has several intensities and even heat. I use this for 10 minutes every night. If I’m looking for something even more relaxing I will use an anti-stress comfort wrap. These wraps are typically filled with rice and some therapeutic herbs.  You can heat them up (or put in the freezer) then lay it on your shoulders, back or neck. They are SO soothing. I have a smaller one that I use on my forehead when I am struck with a migraine headache.

If you are like me and try your best not to soothe pain with drugs, be sure to give Salonpas a try. Grab a FREE SAMPLE here.  The line of products also includes larger gel patches, pain relieving sprays and gels. You are sure to find something that is perfect for your situation.

I’ve seen these and thought they looked really cool. I have a gel that I use that works well but I wonder if this would last longer. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the sample link.

I have terrible joint and muscle pain on a constant basis; just one of the perks of being chronically ill I guess! My pain level fluctuates but sadly it’s ALWAYS there and not much has worked to help it, natural or western medicine, so I’m always willing to try new things! Thank you for this great information! I want to get that free sample to see if it can help 🙂
