Family Fun: PCW Wrestling in Midlothian, IL - My Highest Self

Family Fun: PCW Wrestling in Midlothian, IL

With two kids to entertain, we are always looking for new and different things to do with them that we can all enjoy.  Recently, we were invited to a PCW Wrestling event in Midlothian, IL.

The owner of the company, Rich, is a wrestling veteran himself, since 1988.  According to the Rick, PCW Wrestling is an event for the whole family that’s “cheaper than the movies”!  You will find experienced athletes, excitement, drama, food, fun, and special guests.  Our event welcomed wrestling star Matt Hardy to the ring.  He has always been a favorite of mine, I adored the Hardy Boys back in the day!

We had a front row seat to see all the action and all four of us were ready to have some fun!

We were impressed with the athletes, their stamina and ability to maneuver was outstanding!  Each wrestler had a persona and they really put on a show for each match.  Both of my little ones were loving all the action and so were the grown ups!

It was a packed house, it seemed like the whole place was filled with die-hard fans chanting for their favorite (and least favorite) wrestlers at any moment!

Yes, the action often spilled outside of the ring!

After several exciting matches where we saw sweat, tears, and yes…blood, we were really thrown for a loop.  We were completely caught off guard when during one of the last matches we realized that the match was about to continue right into our section of seats!

Wouldn’t you get out of the way if this guy shouted at you from a darkened arena??

I thought so!  So we all got out of our seats and our whole section of chairs was destroyed, along with a table.  Yeah.  The other guy was not in the best shape afterwards as you can imagine.  It’s all for entertainment but I know for a fact these guys sustain real injuries.  It’s a tough job but somebody’s gotta entertain the local wrestling fanatics!

Overall, it was a super fun night with a lot of unexpected surprises.  My kids laughed, cheered, and cried (Ruby was scared by that match at the end but my son was crying over lost pizza, haha!!).  Many thanks to Rich and PCW Wrestling for a fun Saturday night.

If you are in the area, be sure to check out next months PCW Wrestling event on Saturday, November 17, 2012 featuring special guest Diamond Dallas Page.

We received complimentary tickets to this event, all opinions expressed are my own.

What do you think of wrestling events, yay or nay?

Wrestling is kind of fun to watch. My cousin was a big fan so I watched matches with her way back when. I was more interested in boxing and went to see Muhammad Ali fight in Las Vegas years ago.

We used to watch every week many years ago. I still watch whenever Ray has it on but seeing it live was a whole other ballgame! That must have been amazing to see Muhammad Ali fight!
