You could say I am a serious fan of streaming music. Typically I use my phone to listen with one of the many apps available. When I’m at home I often have my phone by my side to listen. Music keeps my spirits up and helps me to stay motivated. I recently received and tested Google Chromecast Audio, a device that lets you play music on your speakers (your brand new portable speaker, your old stand-up speakers, and everything in between), all wirelessly from your phone, tablet, or laptop. It uses WiFi instead of Bluetooth, so you can stream crystal clear high fidelity sound. You can totally rock out to all your favorite tunes and be confident in the sound quality.
I use Google Chromecast Audio mostly with my portable speakers and love the higher sound quality you get with WiFi versus Bluetooth. Ray likes to use it with our big stereo speakers. Both work great! I like that I can use my phone for all the controls. I can easily play, skip, pause, put the volume up or down from anywhere in my house. I can still make a phone call or text without interrupting the tunes that are playing. I don’t need to worry about draining my battery either.
One of the fun features is that you can group Chromecast Audio devices together so you can listen to the same song on multiple speakers. Great for parties or just a typical night at home!
There are endless apps that you can use to listen to music podcasts and more. Just tap the Cast button in popular mobile apps to start listening. YouTube Music, Google Play Music are two of my favorites, you can find more at chromecast.com/apps. The device is compatible with Android devices, iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows and Chromebook.
Overall, Google Chromecast Audio is a great addition to my daily routine. It keeps the sounds flowing and my motivation going! Keep it in mind, it would make a great gift for anyone who loves to stream audio.
