How to look great and stay safe on your motorcycle

Everyone looks great on a motorcycle, right? Surely all you need to pull off that biker-chick look is a stunning motorcycle and some leathers, right? Sadly, your helmet hair and smeared makeup may disagree…

You’re wearing bulky leathers and safety gear, you’ve got numerous layers on underneath, you can kiss goodbye to any kind of accessories or style, and that whipped hair look doesn’t really do you any favours when you finally take your helmet off.

Of course, looking great whilst riding your bike is one priority, but staying safe on your bike and avoiding a collision is also essential – speak to a Tampa based motorcycle accident lawyer, if you’ve been involved in a road accident whilst on your motorcycle. Thankfully, there are ways you can be a master of both… Read on for how you can look great and stay safe on your motorcycle.

Your helmet

You should never ride your bike without one. And a high-quality one at that. Many motorcyclists who have been involved in accidents are alive today because they wore a helmet, so don’t be afraid to invest in a high-quality helmet. However, don’t be fooled into thinking that just because your helmet is an essential piece of safety equipment, that it can’t look great.

Many riders opt for helmet accessories such as cat eats, stickers and even sparkly decals to add a touch of femininity and a little of their personality to their safety gear. If you don’t want to accessorize then find a helmet that looks gorgeous and complements you. Even if your helmet does give you bad hair, at least you’ll look great wearing it.

Helmet hair

Sadly, there isn’t much we can do for a bad case of helmet hair, however taking a few simple steps before you ride your bike can help the situation slightly. If you’re worried about bad hair, always wash it before you wear your helmet and if your hair is particularly long, it needs to tied securely to prevent it from obstructing your visibility as you ride and from damaging it. Some simple long hair hacks will keep your hair healthy, looking great and keep you safe on the road!

Add a splash of color

A brightly colored scarf that will protect your neck, some sparkly earrings or a necklace that will be on show when you take off your safety gear and a colorful under layer will help you feel more like you when you remove your layers. Just make sure nothing is loose and in danger of getting caught in your bike as you ride.

And finally, your makeup

It’s common for female motorcycle riders to apply additional layers of makeup in the hope that some of it will still be in place when they take their helmet off. However, whether you’ve been riding in the rain or the sweltering heat, it won’t make much difference.

The solution here is simple, by looking after your skin from the outset you’ll achieve a healthy glow instead. Always cleanse, tone and moisturize and remember to apply an SPF. A simple application of eye pencil will suffice and a layer of waterproof mascara will keep your eyes looking fresh.

Consider sticking to a simple tinted BB cream or concealer to even out your skin tone. Avoid wearing heavy foundation – it’ll only rub off inside your helmet anyway!
