Review: Koh Gen Do Cleansing Water Cloth - My Highest Self

Review: Koh Gen Do Cleansing Water Cloth

The Cleansing Water Cloth from Koh Gen Do is in a convenient pack of 10 for easy travel.  I had the chance to test these out a few times and would like to share my thoughts.  These cloths are the travel version of the original Cleansing Spa Water from Koh Gen Do which comes in a bottle.

koh gen do cleansing water cloth reviewkoh gen do wipes reviewEach cloth is organic cotton (certified in Japan) and are good-sized, covering my whole hand.  The Cleansing Water Cloth is made with thermal water from Japan.  Each is infused with six essential herbs including Rosemary Leaf Extract, Sage Leaf Extract, and Lavender Extract.  They are alcohol-free and oil-free.

I thought these makeup removing cloths would be very gentle but something in the ingredients did not agree with my skin.  My cheek area is known to be sensitive and I’m guessing one of the extracts was the cause of my irritation.  After use, I had that stinging after-effect that you never wish for.  Also, the scent is a bit clinical, if that makes sense?  Not the greatest fragrance.  Since we all react differently to ingredients, I am probably in the minority with these being irritating.  I know the Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water is wildly popular.

While the Koh Gen Do Cleansing Water Cloths did not work for me, I’m sure they will work just fine for others.  Great for travel, you can find a 3 pack set for $39 at FrendsBeauty.com.

Product received from PR for editorial consideration, all opinions expressed are my own.

Have you tried these cloths yet? If so, what did you think?

Great review – I have sensitive skin so I don’t think these will work well for me!

I know the Cleansing Water is very popular, I was surprised that this was quite irritating. It may work for others just fine though!

No complaints there but unfortunately the stinging sensation made me forget that part!

Hi Moxie! Over the years I’ve noticed the sensitivity of my cheek area has increased quite a bit. This may work ok for you, you just never know.
