Let's Try a Glacial Facial with Alaska Glacial Mud Co. - My Highest Self

Let’s Try a Glacial Facial with Alaska Glacial Mud Co.

With the many benefits of glacial clay, the Glacial Facial Purifying Mineral Mud Masque from Alaska Glacial Mud Co.* could be one of the best things you can do for your skin this week!  This masque is actually made from real Copper River mud from Alaska!  Good for all skin types, it detoxifies, exfoliates, and softens the skin all in one.

There are three versions, Lavender-Peppermint, Vanilla-Lavender, and unscented.  The one I used most recently is the Lavender-Peppermint.  I was also given the Masque Application Brush to use as well.  Upon opening the packet, the peppermint scent really takes over and there’s just an underlying hint of lavender to be found.  The product is very, very smooth, more so than any other mud mask I have tried.

Using the Masque Application Brush just made this an absolute dream to apply to the face. I loved using the brush and will continue to use this method as it’s so much neater than applying with the hands.  The peppermint in this makes for a very cooling sensation as the masque is on the face.  Since I have oily, acne-prone skin I usually leave my masques on for at least 15 minutes.  The cooling sensation dies down after the mask starts to dry for a bit.  I did not experience any uncomfortable tightness in the face while it was drying which was nice.

masque after drying

As you can see, there are not any big changes in the masque after drying.  After rinsing off with warm water and a washcloth, I found my skin to feel amazingly clean and light if that makes sense?  You know how your skin feels when you have subjected it to makeup and elements for a few days, when you can actually feel that your pores are clogged?  After the removal of this masque I could feel the clean of my pores!  Another noticeable effect is less visible blackheads in my t-zone.  With my large pores, I can always see blackheads on my nose and this masque was great for clearing the skin.  Since I have oily skin I can use this masque up to 4 times per week.  If you have normal to dry skin you can use this masque once per week.

Overall, I loved the light, clean feeling of my skin and pores after using this mask.  I thought it was very gentle and super effective for clearing pores and it also left my skin very soft.   I am a huge fan of the Masque Application Brush ($6), too.  This little tool makes things so much easier and a lot neater.

You can find The Glacial Facial Purifying Mineral Mud Masque* at AlaskaGlacialMud.com, $34.00 for full size and just $3.50 for trial sizes!  They pledge 10% of their profits to local organizations that fight for the preservation of the Copper River Delta/Watershed where the glacial mud comes from.  I just love companies that give back and help to preserve nature :).

Have you tried any new masks lately?  I’d love to hear about your current favorites, leave a comment and let me know!
