Lush Dark Angels Cleanser Review - My Highest Self

Lush Dark Angels Cleanser Review

Over the past several months, I’ve been using LUSH Dark Angels as a facial cleanser.  I have tested a few other products during this same time but Dark Angels is what I have been going back to quite often.  Dark Angels has an unusual look about it, reminding me of a hunk of coal!  While it appears as a solid, it’s quite soft when you grab a bit of it.  Clogged pores is a skincare issue that I’m always working against so that was the main reason I wanted to try Dark Angels.  Lush calls it “the nemesis of blocked pores”.

charcoal cleanserLUSH Dark Angels uses a short list of ingredients (including Rhassoul Mud, Cold Pressed Organic Avocado Oil Powdered Charcoal, Black Sugar, Rosewood oil and more) to both cleanse and keep skin soft.

Lush Dark Angels Charcoal Cleanser Review

Charcoal Cleanser for Clogged PoresTo use Dark Angels, you just grab a pea-sized amount into the hand, add a bit of water and gently cleanse the face (and/or body).  As I mentioned, the main reason I was drawn to Dark Angels was the idea that it would work against clogged pores.  It definitely does that and the major bonus is that it provides a softness to my face that is noticeable after first use.  The cleanser has the consistency of a thin, wet mud when in use and does have an herbal type scent.  I like to use Dark Angels as a facial cleanser in the shower just because it gets a little messy when using it at the bathroom sink.  Masks are still a part of my weekly skincare routine to aid in keeping my pores clear but this cleanser is certainly a huge help when using daily.

I’ve also used Dark Angels a few times as an armpit detox cleanser.  Since I read about armpit detox for the first time, I’ve been intrigued and really like Dark Angels for a detox of the pits.  I just use a small amount, leave it on for about 2 minutes, then rinse.  Again, the bonus of super soft skin is amazing!

The bottom line on LUSH Dark Angels is that I truly love it and will definitely purchase again since I’m *almost* at the end of this pot right now.
