Operation Closet Clean-Up - My Highest Self

Operation Closet Clean-Up

This post is sponsored by Glad® but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Recently our family made a big move…the biggest move of our lives.  We traveled across the country from Illinois and now call Arizona our home!  The process was grueling, from the packing to the loading, the drive, and then the unloading.  Now that we are in our new home, even more work is ahead. Each new week brings a new project and this week’s project was weeding through my clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry.  The need to downsize my collection of items is very real.

My first task was to pull out all my jeans and items that are typically worn in cooler weather.  Arizona weather is really warm in general and especially during Summer. I put together a big pile to donate, as well as a pile to tuck away until the cooler months here.  At night it can actually get a bit chilly…who knew?

The biggest pile that I gathered was for donation and Ray could not be more thrilled, ha!  That means he gets more space in the closet for his massive shirt and shoe collection. Yes, it’s true, he has more clothing items than me.  What can I say, he’s a collector. With so many items to bag up for donating, we needed a tough bag that I could fit all the heavy denim and shoes and not worry that it was going to burst at the seams.

We found Glad® Advanced Protection trash bags at Walmart and they are perfect for this job! We stuffed everything into one bag and tossed it in the car to drop off at our local donation box.  It was the ultimate Torture Test jamming everything into one bag! We discovered these bags are really tough! I hated to see some things go, but I know it was for the best.  I tend to hold on to items for memory’s sake and not because I plan to wear them. Is that weird? I’m trying my best to get out of that habit and this project was a huge help.

The final step in this clean-up and downsize project was setting up the items I decided to keep in an organized way.  We found this handy shelf with organizing bins and it is the absolute perfect way to store all my fall clothing, bags, jewelry and more.  Basically all of my odds and ends are stored in here on my side of the closet. I’m in love!

This project could not have been completed without the help of Glad® Advanced Protection Trash Bags.   These are tough trash bags and if they can handle all of my mess than they can handle any job.  They are set to tackle the heaviest loads with RipGuard™ technology to prevent rips and tears, LeakGuard® Technology that guards against leaks with two-layer protection designed to trap liquids in the bag, a reinforced bottom that prevents leaks and keeps your can clean, and 7-Day Odor Control Guarantee that neutralizes food odors with Febreze® odor control.

Our next project is the garage and you can bet that Glad® Advanced Protection Trash Bags will be a major key in that endeavor.  We will be stuffing those bags full of items to throw away and some to donate.  It will be great to clear out and organize another area in our new home!

What mess or project will you be tackling with the help of Glad® Advanced Protection Trash Bags?

Hi Victoria! Yes, we are enjoying it very much so far. Really looking forward to after summer season when temps are not triple digits though, ha!
