Purify and Hydrate with Chaacoca Ghassoul Mineral Clay Body and Face Mask - My Highest Self

Purify and Hydrate with Chaacoca Ghassoul Mineral Clay Body and Face Mask

Do you love a good mask like I do?  I have to say, one of my favorite things to do on a Friday night is to put a mask on my face and relax while the magic is done.  I’m a wild one, aren’t I?  That’s what happens when you have two small children, your Friday nights are all about the “me time”.

This particular mask from Chaacoca* is made with Moroccan Clay (or Ghassoul) and Bentonite, a clay formed from the breakdown of volcanic ash.  It also contains some organic argan oil, too.  Typically, I will use a face mask about once a week to pull out all the impurities from my pores usually caused by wearing foundation.  My main reason for  doing a mask is preventing pimples as well as getting a jump-start on clearing any pimples they may have already appeared.

The consistency of the product is on the thinner side.  As far as scent, I’d say it smells like…well, clay! When spreading the product on my face, I noticed I could see my skin underneath right away and it does dry pretty quickly.  Unlike a lot of mud  masks, which are pretty thick, usually cover your skin, and take a little longer to start drying.

When the mask dries, it takes on a crackle appearance in the same way that clay ground would look when it is dry…kind of cool!  After 10 or 15 minutes, the product is completely dry on my face and I used warm water and a washcloth to rinse off.

Afterwards, the mask leaves my face with less oil and gunk and visually more smooth and fresh.  In my opinion, you you can really feel the benefits of the argan oil on the skin.  For me, this is not the type of mask that I can use solely for helping with acne, but is great for a general deeper cleanse and refresh every week.  While I just use this on my face, you can use this as an all-over body mask, too.  You can have a total spa day with this!

You can find Chaacoca* products on Amazon.com, the Ghassoul Mineral Clay Body and Face Mask is $19.50 for an 8 oz. size.  Be sure to check out my review on Chaacoca Moroccan Black Soap, love the stuff!

Do you have a favorite mask right now?  Do you do “me time” on Friday nights (or some other night)?  If so, I’d love to hear about your favorite pampering products!

I can mostly not use clay masks as they dry out the skin…and my skin is extremely dry already. Would you think that one would be possible to use on dry sensitive skin?

Just guessing, but I would say probably not if clay usually dries you out 🙂
