Review: Nad's Facial Wax Strips - My Highest Self

Review: Nad’s Facial Wax Strips

Now, I can remember back in the 90s when  Nad’s first showed up in a television infomercial as an “all-natural” (and green) hair removal substance in a jar.  Who remembers that??  They’ve come a long way, baby!  You can now find Nad’s in a variety of forms right in your drugstore.  They’ve got it all, from the original Nad’s Natural Hair Removal Gel and Nad’s Natural Warm Wax to Hair Removal Cremes and Wax Strips for both men and women.

Recently, I tried the Nad’s Facial Wax Strips which are hypoallergenic and fragrance free.  These are great for upper lip and chin hair.  There are 24 strips and 2 Post Wax Calming Oil Wipes included.  Ingredients of the Facial Wax Strips include Beeswax, Shea Butter Extract, and Castor Seed Oil.

These are simple to use:  Briskly rub strips between palms, separate double strip into 2 strips.  Apply strip with firm pressure, smooth over 3-4 times in direction of hair growth.  Hold skin taut, pull strip back as quickly and as close to the skin as possible in opposite direction of growth.  I’m not going to lie and say this is painless, it isn’t.  Waxing involves a bit of pain.  I think you know if you are the type of person who can handle it or not.  Is it the worst pain?  No.  Using the Post Wax Wipes does help remove the residual wax and ease the sting a bit.  It is suggested to use baby oil when you run out of the Post Wax Wipes.  Even though there is a bit of pain associated with using wax strips for hair removal, the upside is that it keeps the hair away longer.  A little bit of pain, a whole lotta gain!

What I was very happy with is that after use, the waxed areas did not stay red or feel irritated in any way.  Typically after facial waxing I’ll have some noticeable redness that lingers.  That was not my experience with Nad’s!  After just a few minutes, I was ready to face the world.

Check out the many hair removal products from Nad’s at Nads.com.  I’m curious about the Facial Wand Eyebrow Shaper myself!  You can find Nad’s Facial Wax Strips for around $4.99  at Ulta, Walgreens, CVS, Target, Kmart, Amazon.com and more.
