Sicilian Style Swordfish with Parsley Garlic Potatoes – Plated.com

I am someone who always enjoys trying a new recipe.  I’m not skilled enough in the kitchen to “wing it” so I am always searching magazines and websites for dishes to try.  Not too long ago, I was introduced to Plated, an online service that offers chef-designed healthy recipes PLUS all ingredients sent to your home so you can prepare a fresh dinner.  Plated uses local and seasonal produce whenever possible.  They source meats from local, family-owned purveyors. Plated also partners with responsible companies to make sure that the fish is always fresh and wild-caught when possible.  Each week there is a new menu to choose from, with 4 meat and fish options and 3 vegetarian options. You can order for 2, 4, or 6 people.   I chose the Sicilian Style Swordfish with Parsley Garlic Potatoes and was able to choose a delivery date for the next week.

The package arrived from Plated and included everything I would need to make the dish (serving 4).  All the ingredients are fresh and arrive in a refrigerated pack, nothing is frozen.  All I needed from home was olive oil, pepper and salt!  Also included is the recipe sheet with all the directions for preparation and cooking.

This particular dinner involved lots of chopping and preparation.  First, I prepared the baby potatoes, chopping then tossing with olive oil, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper.

Roasted Potatoes

While the potatoes were in the oven, I prepared the sauce as directed using the sun-dried tomatoes, onion, garlic, olives, capers, white wine, and crushed red pepper.  I’m not sure what I may have done wrong but my sauce was not as “saucy” as shown in the recipe.  The photos show a lot of liquid and my sauce turned out with almost zero liquid.

Once my sauce was ready, it was time to cook the swordfish.  Fish takes just a few minutes and was the easiest step of the whole recipe.

Upon completion of the potatoes, sauce and fish, it was time to plate and EAT!  Both Ray and I thought the fish, sauce and potatoes were a delicious combination of flavors.  Personally, I would not use such a large amount of sun-dried tomatoes next time around. I feel like they really took over the sauce for me.  The olives and capers were my favorite part of the ingredients to this dish.  This particular recipe is great for a weekend when you have plenty of time for all the chopping and cooking.  I would not recommend this on a busy night, though!  Overall, the Sicilian Style Swordfish with Parsley Garlic Potatoes recipe was well worth the work.

I think your dish turned out beautifully! Plated is such a cool service. I truly dislike finding recipes and coming up with dinner plans, so having a meal shipped to me with fresh, healthy ingredients and a step-by-step guide on how to prepare it sounds wonderful to me.

This looks really good. I am not a big fan of cooking so having all the ingredients would be my dream recipe.

That looks delicious! I am so bad about clipping a recipe and never actually making it. Love that Plated ships the food directly to your house so it just cuts out all that hassle.
