Sneak Peek! Swatches! Review! Eye Look with Alima Pure Fall Runway Collection

I am so excited to show you a fantastic sneak peek of Alima Pure’s* latest Limited Edition Collection,  the Fall Runway Collection!

A little background on Alima Pure*:  “Alima Pure uses only pure, cosmetic-grade minerals to create their full range of powdered cosmetics.  No dyes, carmine, unnatural preservatives or harmful chemicals can be found in any of theri over 250 shades.”

This gorgeous collection will be available for a limited time only starting tomorrow (August 2), and is sold exclusively on Alima Pure’s website.  The Fall Runway Collection* (sold only as a set)  is available for $30, with $2 from each set going to THE Global Fund for Women.

What’s included in this set:

Backstage – Pale Pink Satin Matte Eyeshadow

Front Row – Pale Gold Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow

Press Pass – Deep Taupe Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow

Catwalk – Black Luminous Shimmer Eyeliner

Oh yes, this set is so up my alley!!  I am loving all the subtle, but beautful, shimmer in these!  I will go for the shimmer 9 times out of 10!  Here’s a look at the each shade:

Here’s a look at hand swatches of each:

Front Row and Backstage

Press Pass and Catwalk

In the past I have dabbled just a bit with mineral eye products so I thought it was going to be a lot of work using these instead of pressed shadows.  What I found is that it was quite easy!  For this look I applied Backstage all over the lid up to the brow, swept Front Row on the lid and a bit under lower lashes, brushed Press Pass into the lids at outer corner and crease (and smudged under lower lashes at outer edge), then lined upper lashes with Catwalk and a damp brush.

I found that these mineral shadows were easy to work with as long as you take your time and just barely dip you brush in and tap the excess back into the container.  You really need so little product and it is easy to make a mess if you are careless (or accident prone!).  Maybe you are not as clutzy as me and you already have your technique down.  Either way, all worked out well for me and I didn’t have any mishaps.  Also worth noting, I did not experience a bunch of fallout all over my face AND they stayed put in their proper places on my eyes all day (I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a primer).  All shadows were soft and very blendable and Backstage is sooo silky!

Overall, I say BRAVO to Alima Pure!  The Fall Runway Collection showcases gorgeous shades (3 of which have an ever-so-subtle but beautiful shimmer), all of which create a stunning look that can truly go from day to night!  You can finish off your look with a one of the Nourishing Lip Balms (see swatches and review) and you’re set to go.

More notable goodies that Alima Pure offers:  $1.50 samples of a TON of their products, Alima Pure Points Program where you earn points with every order to redeem for discounts,  and the Jar Return program where you recycle used jars to get a FREE eyeshadow!  Don’t you love them??

What do you think of the new collection for Fall 2011?  Will you be picking this up for yourself?  How do YOU feel about mineral eyeshadows?

So pretty! I was just on the Alima site yesterday trying to decide what to buy. They have such an enormous collection of colors, so I was thinking the best bet would be to get this set or order samples.

    Cindy,
I have sensitive skin, and break out from a LOT of the natural and organic cosmetic lines. I do not break out from Alima Pure’s products. I love their stuff. The samples are a great way to try product without spending a ton of money.

Hello:) I have a bag exploding with alima pure samples that I rotate. I wanted to address Cindy and her sensitive skin. Cindy, my skin is sensitive as well, even too much rubbing with foundation can make it red. I have found that with Alima pure put on dry, it can feel kind of prickly (to me). What I do is for the foundation, I go as light as I can and finish with an aloe makeup set mist(E.L.F). With the shadows, I slightly wet a sponge or brush and apply. Use primer if you’re prone to creasing since it’s wet.

I would assume their product would be good for sensitive skin: no dyes, unnatural chemicals, etc! Those $1.50 samples could be a great way to give some things a try 🙂
