Swatch, Review, Eye Look: bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 8.0 – The Playlist

I think bareMinerals* has really done it with the new READY Eyeshadows!  You may know that they are famous for their loose mineral eyeshadows and have now brought us solid mineral shadows in truly gorgeous colors.

When I first saw the commercial for READY Eyeshadows, I just went crazy over the green and gold eye look!  I can still stare at it for days, have you seen it?  You must watch, its only 30 seconds, I die over it every time…

The bareMinerals* Ready Eyeshadow 8.0 palette I have been playing around with these days is The Playlist.  As you can see, this limited-edition 8 shadow palette is shiny and glamorous in gold.  The case opens up to a full mirror inside with 8 shadows and a double-ended shadow brush making it easy to travel with.

top row of palette:

Pumped – cocoa sparkle, Chart Topper – pewter silk,

Max Volume – smoky jade, Louder – burnished copper

bottom row of palette:

One Hit Wonder – butter chiffon, Most Requested – burgundy sparkle,

Remix – burnished gold,  Speaker Box – shimmering gunmetal

I found all of these shadows to be brilliantly pigmented, especially my favorite shimmers Max Volume (smoky jade) and Remix (burnished gold).  The ones that needed a few more swipes were Pumped (cocoa sparkle) and Most Requested (burgundy sparkle).  No big deal but worth mentioning.  The color payoff on the lid with all eight of these shadows is truly amazing and there are tons of looks to be made with this palette.

Can we talk about the double-ended shadow brush included with this palette?  Normally, I completely overlook the little brushes included with eyeshadow palettes.  I save them but typically never put them to use.  When I took a second look at this brush and saw the perfectly pointed brush on one end, all of that changed.

This little pointy pencil brush is my new best friend, better than any brush I have used to line my eyes with shadow!  It’s perfect shape and combination of structured, yet soft bristles cannot compare to any pencil brush I have used.

To show my love for that BEAUTIFUL green and gold eye look, here’s my look inspired by the bareMinerals commercial:

I used Max Volume (smoky jade) and Remix (burnished gold) on the lid and lash lines and One Hit Wonder (butter chiffon) as a browbone highlight.  Can you tell how Max Volume turns into an amazing metallic eyeliner when used on my lower lashline with the pencil brush?  Oh, how I love it so!

Overall, I think I have sufficiently professed my love for this palette, the colors, pigmentation, and that awesome little brush!  You can find The Playlist palette for $40.oo at BareEscentuals.com and Sephora.com.  Be sure to check out the other available READY Eyeshadow palettes, they all look interesting!

Nope, haven’t tried them yet. The only bareMinerals eye shadow I own is an older one, called Rose Gossamer, I love it. Makes my eyes look bright, awake, and has some shimmer.

Well done on the reproduction of the look, how perfect this is for the holidays!
