Swatch, Review, Eye Look! Maybelline Limited Edition Eye Studio Eyeshadow - Strut It Suede - My Highest Self

Swatch, Review, Eye Look! Maybelline Limited Edition Eye Studio Eyeshadow – Strut It Suede

After reading the Nouveau Cheap post about the newest Maybelline Limited Edition collection for Fashion Week 2011, I just knew I wanted to pick up one of the Eye Studio palettes!  I have a few of the previous Eye Studio selections and just fell in the love with the silky, shimmery colors with my very first purchase.

The Limited Edition quad Strut It Suede was the perfect first purchase from this Scene on the Runway collection from Maybelline.  According to the Maybelline Facebook page, this collection is “based on beauty looks designed for the Fall 2011 runway shows and is in stores only for a limited time.”

The Strut It Suede quad features one matte shade, unlike the others that I have purchased where all four shades have glimmery,  shimmery loveliness.  I actually like this new addition of a matte shade, it was perfect for blending into the crease and for highlighting at the browbone.  I love the subtle sparkle of the other three shades and this palette does not disappoint in the silkiness department…I would expect nothing less from Maybelline Eye Studio shadows.  All shades are silky soft and the palettes are really fool-proof and blend well together.  As always, you could REALLY dramatize your eyes by building on the color as you go, darkening up the crease and smoking it up.  This look below shows how you can use this palette to create an easy look suitable for daytime.  Per usual, I did use eye primer (Too Faced Shadow Insurance) on my eyelids first.  Eyeshadows will always stand out more and last all day with a good primer!

I purchased Strut It Suede at one of the drugstores for around $9.00.  I don’t really like to buy drugstore cosmetics for full price since there are always sales and coupons but these are limited edition so I had to bend.  I just love these Eye Studio eyeshadows so much, it was a win-win for me.  If I get the chance, I think Sapphire Stylist is the one I would like to buy next…but they are all so pretty!
