Swatch & Review of Exude Lipstick! - My Highest Self

Swatch & Review of Exude Lipstick!

Not too long ago, I wrote about a mysterious new lipstick line that was making its debut, with Rachel Zoe as brand ambassador.  Exude* lipstick was intriguing to me because of the claim that it  “will forever revolutionize the way a woman applies her lipstick”.  With virtually no information or pictures available, I was anxious to find out what this meant!  Check out the video below with Rachel Zoe giving all the details on Exude and why she is “obsessed” with it!

What I found when I received my sample of Exude* (a Lip Creme in the Nude shade), is that it is quite an innovative applicator.  The matte white case is new and different from any lipstick that I personally own, so I like that too.  The lipstick is housed in a clear plastic applicator in the traditional lipstick shape, with a small hole at the top that dispenses the lipstick.

This new type of application method actually works very well:  a little turn and the product comes out and I found it easy to spread over my lips evenly with no mess.  The dispenser tip has little nubs that I found to be like a bit of a lip massage… nice touch!  I’m pretty sure the nubs are to help with flow of the product for application, but HEY a little massage is great too!  The lip creme felt soft on my lips and not drying at all.

There is a minty tingle when applied which is nice.  This particular Nude shade has a lot of gold sparkle in it (hopefully you can see this in the pictures), which you don’t see when looking at the shades on the Exude website.

Personally, I LOVE the sparkle and it was a true nude shade for my lips.  It blended right in with my lips but provided a sheen, a nice sparkle, and plenty of moisturization.

Check out what a perfect Nude shade this is for my lips, pumping out that sparkle and sheen!

Exude* lipstick has 9 shades of Lip Creme  available and 5 shades of Lip Gloss  available right now on the website.  The Lip Creme is priced at $29.00 for a .09 fl oz size, which I consider to be on the high end of pricing for a lipstick.  Overall, I found this to be a great new product, love the innovative idea and the shade that I sampled was a great fit for me!

What do you think of the Exude lipstick line?  Does the Rachel Zoe endorsement sway you one way or the other?  Will you be trying one of these new lip products?
