The Genworth #LetsTalk Tour Helps You Discuss Long Term Care #Sponsored #MC

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Genworth. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.

Chances are you probably think that long term care is a subject that your family does not need to think about right now.  Difficult subjects usually get put off when they should be dealt with sooner rather than later.  For example, when thinking about who will care for your parents when they get older, it is never too soon to start talking about it.  It’s probably not a good idea to wait until a loved one is sick to start this conversation.  You will want to have a family talk about long term care while all are healthy and able to make decisions.

The Genworth Let’s Talk Tour started this year in New York and recently hit Chicago.  Genworth started the #LetsTalk Tour to encourage everyone to have those very important conversations about long term care with our family.  Genworth is a company that has roots dating back to 1871.  They offer Long Term Care Insurance as well as helpful resources to aid in the discussion and planning.

Check out the recap of the Chicago stop on the Genworth Let’s Talk Tour:

Long term care planning is something I think about often now that I have two kids of my own.  This is a conversation that I need to have with my own family as well.  While I’m nervous about the subject I know it is something that is necessary.  One of my favorite tips from Genworth is to write down your thoughts on the subject if it is too difficult to talk about.  Give the letter to your loved ones and start the conversation from there.  I think that may ease you all into a productive talk.

The Genworth Let’s Talk Tour will make stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Dallas this year as well.  Get all the information on the tour here.

Have you had these important conversations with your loved ones yet?  Are you ready for the future?
