Birthday Fun at America’s Beauty Show in Chicago

Last Sunday on my birthday (happy birthday to me!), I had the opportunity to attend America’s Beauty Show / Face & Body Conference and Expo in Chicago.  It was an absolute whirlwind of hair, cosmetics, skincare,  and all things beauty!  There were haircut demos, eyelash demos, hair extension demos, eccentric hair models parading around, and more product booths than you can even fathom.

I can’t even decide what I enjoyed more:  visiting my favorite brands like Essie, OPI, and China Glaze, or discovering new brands like bbeaute, Rock Your Hair, and Neuma.  The Stila booth had their own live DJ and music was pumping at every individual booth.  There was a ton of action going on and too many ways to spend money!  At the end of the day, I even had the chance to sit and enjoy a fabulous make-up application from TIGI.  More on that later!

I was especially intrigued about the line of TIGI cosmetics on display at the show.  These cosmetics are only available in TIGI salons.  The gorgeous packaging and array of colors just gave me a thrill!

At the end of my day, I had the chance to meet Louanne from TIGI, who whipped up a fresh eye look for me.  It was a blast chatting with her, finding out more about TIGI Cosmetics, and about her position as a travelling educator for the company.

I love that Louanne used a bit of color on my lower lashline and we had a nice chat about how to add color and still be age-appropriate.  I am 37 now, ya know! 🙂

Many thanks to Louanne from TIGI, this part of my day was a true joy.  Learning about new brands and shopping all day was a pretty good part of my day, too!  There was a beautiful cake and flowers waiting for me when I got back home.  My honey and two kids are the sweetest.  We all went out for a wonderful dinner afterwards to end a most excellent birthday!
