Have you ever gotten a whiff of a scent and been carried away to another time in your life? This happens to me and it astounds me every time! Did you know that Calgon recently brought back a Refreshing Body Mist that has been discontinued for 5 years? Turquoise Seas is back! Fans had been all over social media asking for this fragrance and they listened. I love that!
As the name suggests, Turquoise Seas has that fresh ocean fragrance that just smells like a crisp breeze. Now, let me tell you…I wore this fragrance for a few years exclusively. I believe it was 1999-2001 (I think). My best friend wore Hawaiian Ginger exclusively. So, when I spritz on Turquoise Seas, Calgon really does take me away…to Friday nights with the girls and dancing until the sun comes up, literally. It reminds me of these pants:
This pair of shiny, orange pants was an absolute favorite during that time in my life. I danced my ass off in these! Actually, I still have these pants in a storage bin here at my house. They bring me fond memories and I will keep them to show my daughter what a nut I was!! It’s hilarious that I Googled “shiny orange pants” and it took me about 30 seconds to find the exact pair on Ebay!
Anyway, the point is Turquoise Seas takes me back to a time when life was carefree and more about fun than anything. It takes me back to when I met the love of my life. I was young and skinny and fit into those orange pants, and they looked good, ha ha!! By the way, I did NOT think I was skinny back then. Why can’t we ever appreciate our size? Ugh.
I was also introduced to Berry Ravishing by Calgon and while I liked the scent, it actually smells more like apple when I wear it. Not too shabby, though!

Great post, it made me smile. I also associate fragrance with memories of the not-too-distant-past. We’re born on the same era so you and I are probably gyrating to the same song, LOL!

Awww thanks, I was smiling the whole time I was typing it up! I just love reminiscing, I’m so sentimental. Oh my gosh you have to tell me some of your favorite songs from back then! The first song that comes to mind is One More Time from Daft Punk but I seem to recall some JLO and a ton of others :).
