The family was recently invited to have dinner at Bahama Breeze in Schaumburg. We headed out on a Saturday to check it out! Bahama Breeze is a beautiful restaurant with a casual island-style atmosphere.
We loved the interior and opted to dine in the indoor patio area which is surrounded with windows, complete with a fire pit, and live music!
The manager, Juan, first sent over a few different cocktails for us to sample: Goombay Smash, Bahamarita, and Painkiller. The sips I had of each were delicious as I LOVE an island-style drink. I know Ray was a real fan of the Goombay Smash, a rum-based cocktail. I can’t wait to go back for date night so Ray and I can really drink a few of these!
Next, Juan sent over some amazing appetizers: Fire Roasted Shrimp and Crispy Onion Rings. The shrimp was fantastic, spicy but not overwhelming. It was served with warm bread for dipping in the sauce, my favorite part! Ray absolutely loved the onion rings, handmade in Panko breading with shredded coconut flakes.
Ruby chose the Bowtie Mac ‘n Cheese and Ollie chose Grilled Fresh Tilapia, both from the kids menu. Both kids enjoyed their entrees and let me tell you that says a lot. Ruby almost never eats her dinner at a restaurant, she is extremely picky. Ollie is less picky but it’s still pretty astounding when he finishes his dinner. I love that fresh fruit is served with each kids meal especially since my kids love fruit.
For our entrees, Ray and I were able to try three different Rice Bowls:
I am a seafood lover, so I thought the Shrimp Creole would be my favorite. As it turns out each Rice Bowl I tried was better than the last. My favorite ended up being the Chipotle Beef. I really enjoyed the freshness of the avocado and sour cream mixed with the delicious chipotle sauce. It was outstanding! Ray’s favorite was the Carnitas. He is a meat lover so the yellow rice topped with chorizo and pork made his night.
As you can imagine, the whole family went home stuffed to the gills with Bahama Breeze Caribbean cuisine! Not one of us even had room for dessert. Many thanks to Juan and all the staff at Bahama Breeze in Schaumburg for being such wonderful hosts. We can’t wait to go back on date night for those drinks! We will definitely be back soon for another family dinner as well. Bahama Breeze has locations in many states, find your location here.
We received complimentary dinner, all opinions expressed are my own.
Have you been to Bahama Breeze? What do you think of island-style food and drinks?
Oh I’m so glad I stumbled across your blog! We’re doing the same thing on Friday :). I’m so excited to try the bowls. Bahama Breeze is one of my favorite places!

Hi Tina the food and drinks look and sound delicious! 🙂 I really like your hair at the moment, too! 🙂
I noticed that the kids meal serving sizes are HUGE! I’d be tempted to smuggle in some Tupperware to store the left overs for later lol! 😉

Hi Sarah! Yes everything was so delicious! Thanks for the compliment on my hair. I have been trying REALLY hard to grow it out, some days I like it but most days I just want to cut it short again! Yes the meals were pretty big all the way around and we did take a lot home. I had mine for lunch the next day!
