Over the years, I’ve taken to using a few staple products for exfoliation and I’ve stuck with them because they work gently. I had the chance to try dr. brandt PoreDermabrasion pore perfecting exfoliator which sets out to deep clean pores and smooth skin texture. I would consider this product a more intense exfoliation than what I typically use.
According to the website, dr. brandt PoreDermabrasion is a professional grade physical and chemical exfoliator. I followed the instructions and gently massaged the product on my dampened face for 1 minute and then allowed 1 minute to let it sit on the skin and deep clean pores. Afterward my face did indeed feel noticeably smoother. Unfortunately, by the next morning my face also felt more dry than usual. I waited the 3 recommended days before using it again. After the second use, my skin was feeling unnaturally dry and I decided this particular exfoliation wasn’t for me. I would like to note that I did not experience any redness and my skin did not feel irritated, just extremely dry. The ingredients list includes fruit extracts and several oils (jasmine, bergamot, clove, peppermint to name a few) as well as salicylic acid and the micro crystals for exfoliation. I’m assuming this combo of ingredients was just too much for my skin. I’m sure there are plenty of you who will love this product though!

I agree, the ingredients are not well suited to your skin. Great honest review!

I’m not sure if I could handle the mask based off of the ingredients but it sounds like it would be good for normal skin.

When my skin was oily I liked to use Dr. Brandt.

I didn’t accept this because I was afraid it would be too strong for my skin. I guess that was a wise thing on my part.

It’s too bad that it dried out your skin the way it did. I had heard good things about this product and had hopes for it. I guess everyone is different.

I hate when products are so great but they just don’t work for you. I have a few that dried me out so bad, but everyone loves them hehe

That stinks that this dried out your skin. I prefer a physical exfoliator over chemicals. Chemicals tend to dry my skin out.

I got a sample of this and put it away presuming it would be too harsh on the skin. I have to get it out and try it – maybe my oily skin will like it.

Too bad that it dried out the skin too much. But I know how that feels. I’ve had a few that have done that to my skin.

I have a similar product by Exuviance that has Glycolic Acid rather than Salicylic Acid and I really like it. I have very dry skin and it leaves my skin feeling very soft, polished and silky but never dried out.
