Ginger Soy Tilapia Recipe - My Highest Self

Ginger Soy Tilapia Recipe

Today I am sharing a favorite easy recipe for Ginger Soy Tilapia and and you only need a few ingredients!  Most of our family loves fish (my daughter is still SO picky), so this quick meal is perfect for a busy weeknight.  This easy recipe cooks in just a few minutes.  The combination of ginger and soy creates this sweet and salty flavor that complements tilapia very well.  I paired my Ginger Soy Tilapia with white rice and asian veggies and it was a real hit!  I know I will be making this recipe again and again.

Ginger Soy Tilapia

4 tilapia fillets

2 tsp. ground ginger

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tsp. sesame oil

Pepper to taste

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Tear off four pieces of foil, each 12 by 15 inches long. Place tilapia fillet in center of each piece of foil. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp. of ginger over each fillet. Drizzle each with 1 Tbsp. soy sauce and 1/2 tsp. sesame oil. Season with pepper.

2.  Fold top of foil to meet bottom, crimp edges tightly to seal and form a packet. Arrange packets in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Bake until fish is opaque, about 12 minutes. Enjoy!

Sounds relish! For some weird reason, I never buy tilapia. Since I live in New England, I always go for haddock, scrod, cod etc and they would work with this recipe as well. But tilapia is always a bargain. I should give it a try. My quick meal may not be kid-friendly but it’s delicious for grown-ups and fast. Take two boneless chicken breasts, sprinkle with S&P, grate a little lemon zest onto each breast. Place a slice or two of prosciutto on top of each breast to cover it. Pound the boneless chicken breasts till thin (underneath a piece of wax paper or parchment paper) with your skillet (or with a mallet but the skillet is easier). Saute for 3-4 minutes per side in olive oil. I add sliced mushrooms that I sauté in either Vermouth, Dry Sherry or Marsala. Works with any side dish or veggies or salad. This recipe takes only a few minutes and is great.
