My son is 4 and absolutely loves anything construction-related, or block-related, or train-related. He is the first born and has a lot of toys, as you can imagine. We were given the opportunity to review the Mega Bloks Blok Squad Construction set this past week and he has had a blast!
When I saw the Mega Bloks brand name, I actually thought these were large-type block sets. You know what happens when you assume, right? The Blok Squad sets are labeled for ages 5 and up so I thought these would be perfect for my son since I always try to buy things about a year up from his current age. I was not prepared for how small (and how many) pieces were involved in this set!
It took his dad probably 20 minutes to put together each vehicle (there are 3 vehicles in the set) and they are super detailed and even come with decals.
The vehicles look great once complete and my son loves playing with these. What he loved even more was taking them apart and then reconstructing his own vehicles from a mish-mash of all the pieces!

While this Mega Bloks Blok Squad 295-piece set was wonderfully detailed and great quality, I feel that this set far is too advanced for a 5 year old.
