There are a lot of lotions on the market that claim they can give you the softest skin but nothing is as great as a Homemade Body Butter! This whipped body butter is so creamy and full of only the best ingredients for your skin. It’s lightweight and will absorb into your skin in seconds leaving no residue at all. I really hope you enjoy this Homemade Almond Coffee Whipped Body Butter.
Homemade Whipped Body Butter
Ingredients:
- ½ Cup Coconut Oil
- 1 Cup Shea Butter
- ¼ Cup Sweet Almond Oil
- 10 drops Coffee Extract
Supplies:
- Double Boiler
- Stand Mixer
- Glass Canister (Target Dollar Spot)
Directions:
For the proper melting of these oils I’m using a double boiler. If you don’t have a double boiler you can easily use a small sauce pan filled with boiling water with a heat safe bowl on top. In a small pan, add in your coconut oil, shea butter and almond oil and place your double boiler on the stove top. Melt down the ingredients on a low heat setting and stir occasionally. Be sure your oils slowly melt and don’t burn in the process. Once all 3 oils have melted together remove from heat and let them sit to solidify for a bit. The oils will turn into a hard oil (similar to grease) and once you can place your finger in the middle without getting any oil on you it’s complete. (Tip: To speed up this process you can place it in the freezer for 20 minutes). Once it becomes a solid it’s time to whip up the mixture to make our Whipped Body Butter. You can leave the mixture in your bowl and use a hand mixer to whip it up or scoop it into a stand mixer and whip it on high until it turns into a fluffy cream. Make sure you add in your essential oils for maximum benefits of this whipped body butter. I really recommend the stand mixture because it’s a much faster process. Once you are happy with the consistency of the whipped body butter just spoon it into the container of your choice. I chose an adorable glass container from the Target dollar section. Fill the lotion up to the top and add a gorgeous piece of twine or ribbon to give the glass container some pizzazz. Give it as a gift or keep it all for yourself!
