A critically acclaimed live family production has arrived in the U.S. and Canada after wowing audiences in Australia and New Zealand! DreamWorks’ How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular has been described as “a visual and technical work of mind-boggling proportions” (Australian Stage) and “nothing less than sensational” (Aussietheater.com).
A story of vikings and wild dragons based on the book by Cressida Cowell is presented in live, fire-breathing action where you can expect adventure and laughter for all. In a production that mixes live actors and state-of-the-art animatronics technology, you can expect to see a stunning showcase of martial arts and acrobatics. The story centers on Hiccup, a Viking teenager who doesn’t fit in with his tribe’s longstanding tradition of heroic dragon slayers. Hiccup’s world is turned upside down when he encounters a dragon that challenges him and his fellow Vikings to see the world from an entirely different point of view.
Have you ever witnessed a fire-breathing dragon soaring overhead? Me neither but I plan to keep my eyes WIDE open for that when How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular rolls into Chicago (Edit: opening show is now on July 26th)! I just know the whole family will love this stunning show. With a 5 year old boy and a 4 year old girl, I can bet they will BOTH be thrilled with such a one-of-a-kind experience!
