You may have read my post on Alaska Glacial Mud Co.* so you many remember that I loved the mud masque. I have been using the Exfoliating Mineral Soap Bar for over a month now and can say that it is a true favorite! This 4 oz. bar of soap in Peppermint and Lavender is so very soothing to my skin.
While the Peppermint in this bar really takes over the Lavender, the scent is incredibly refreshing in the shower. This soap has just a few amazing ingredients: Saponified oils of extra virgin olive, coconut, and palm, goat’s milk, Alaska glacial mineral mud, steam-distilled essential oils of peppermint and lavender, vitamin e.
This soap bar sets out to exfoliate, cleanse and moisturize all in one. I can testify that it does an excellent job of all three things! I found this soap feels especially good on my feet, too. There’s something about the mineral mud and peppermint oils that if just perfect to ease tired feet. I never found the Exfoliating Mineral Soap Bar to be drying, my skin always felt hydrated after showering. While this soap does lather, you won’t find that it is a major lather and I usually had to lather my shower pouf a second time once I got down to my knee area. No big deal, but worth noting. I think we all get used to the out-of-control lather we might get from a shower gel.
Also worth noting is that these types of natural bar soaps need to be kept out of the water stream in your shower. If not, the soap will simply disintegrate before your eyes, a little each day. You can read what happened before I realized this here. We don’t want to waste our luxurious soap, now do we? Oh! The other scent available is Bergamot Lemongrass Mandarin Lavender…I need to try that one as I adore Bergamot!
You can find the Exfoliating Mineral Soap Bar at AlaskaGlacialMud.com, $12.50 for a 4 oz. bar that will keep you going for a while. They pledge 10% of their profits to local organizations that fight for the preservation of the Copper River Delta/Watershed where the glacial mud comes from. I just love companies that give back and help to preserve nature .
I would love to hear from you so please leave a comment and tell me what’s on your mind! What is your current favorite soap, bodywash, shampoo, or whatever? What are your plans for the weekend? Is it snowy where you live?
That soap looks really nice! I bet the Peppermint in it was refreshing for your feet and the Lavender combined with it sounds lovely.
Hey Victoria! I reach for this soap most often in the shower, I’m not the only one who has several soaps/gels hanging out in the shower right? Have you tried any interesting soaps lately?
