Review: IT Cosmetics Vitality Flush Stain Stick in Rose Flush - My Highest Self

Review: IT Cosmetics Vitality Flush Stain Stick in Rose Flush

I am very zealous about multi-use makeup products. They’re perfect for traveling with, cutting down time on your makeup routine, and even saving money. There has been a wave of releases of “color sticks,” most popularly NARS The Multiple. IT Cosmetics has its own version: the Vitality Flush Stain Stick Lip & Cheek Reviver.

IT Cosmetics Vitality

This lip and cheek stain, in the shade Rose Flush, gives off a very natural— yet noticeable— pop of color to your face. It’s not quite a cream texture, but much more of a balm. The formula contains shea butter, aloe, and jojoba oil plus antioxidants that leave your skin feeling very hydrated after applying. On the lips, it feels incredible, but the consistency took some getting used to on my cheeks. It never quite “sets” on the skin, so you get a very dewy feeling on your cheeks. I have now started to use setting powder over this, which not only tones down the balminess but also makes it last longer. Without setting powder, it lasts about 5 hours and is prone to transferring; with powder: it lasts about 8 hours.

Although the Vitality Flush Stain Stick Lip& Cheek Reviver offers a more natural look, the pigmentation is definitely there. It doesn’t take a lot to get a good amount of color going on your cheeks. I find it a little awkward applying to the lips because of the size, but that certainly doesn’t stop me! I do, however, like to wipe it off between using on the skin and lips since I apply it over my foundation, and don’t want makeup to be transferred to my lips. The feeling is very buttery and hydrating, and I just found out that they have a product with this same formula exclusively for the lips (The Vitality Lip Stain).

Now the thing is, I really don’t get a stain effect when applied to either my lips or cheeks. When the color fades, my normal skin color shows through. That’s sort of a bummer, but since I can extend the wear time with setting powder to about 8 hours, it’s not that much of a downside.

For comparison, the Vitality Flush Stain Stick is $24 for .24 oz, NARS The Multiple will cost you $39 for .50 oz.

The IT Cosmetics Vitality Flush Stain Stick Lip & Cheek Reviver is ideal for those with dry skin who like natural pops of color, and hydrating products.
