The latest fragrance by the gorgeous and talented Katy Perry is Killer Queen. This perfume is named after a song written by Freddie Mercury which Katy has admired since she was a teen. Katy has said in interviews that she finally feels she lives up to the Killer Queen lyrics. I love when artists share what they are inspired by!
Killer Queen by Katy Perry is a mix of floral and warmth with Top Notes that include Bergamot, Dark Plum, and Berries; the Mid Notes are velvety red flower (Celosia), Sambac Jasmine, and Rainbow Plumeria; Dry Notes of Cashmere, Patchouli, and Praline.
The scepter-inspired bottle is very pretty, unique and has a nice weight to it, but I was disappointed to find that there is no stand inside the box. So there is no way for it to stand upright, it has to lay on its side. I think that takes away a little of the cool factor for this style of perfume bottle. Killer Queen would look much more regal on a stand!
When I wear Killer Queen all I typically smell is the Patchouli and possibly a hint of the Praline (which is quite sugary) and Jasmine. I don’t have a clue what Celosia smells like so I can’t say if that shows up or not! For me, this is a “heavy” scent best worn in the colder months. I would not reach for this in the Summer but others may certainly love this year round. I found this fragrance to linger around for a short time, needing a refresher after 3 hours.
Overall, if you are a fan of Katy Perry or a fragrance collector in general you will need Killer Queen! Find it at Sephora for $39 to $59. Check out this awesome gift set for $64.00!
