LUSH Emotional Brilliance Swatches and B1G1 FREE Sale!

Have you heard of Emotional Brilliance, the cosmetics line from LUSH? The line is full of liquid lipsticks, cream eyeshadows, cream eyeliners and NEW Eyes Right Fresh Wheatgrass Mascara, all 100% Vegan. You can actually use all of the products anywhere on your face. I have been testing out the following shades: Ambition Liquid Lipstick, Perspective Liquid Lipstick, Happiness Cream Eyeshadow, Control Eyeliner

The main tip I can’t stress enough (at least with the lipsticks) is to apply a tiny amount and add more if you need it.  At first I applied this as I would a lipgloss and made a real mess of my lips!  The lipstick applied super-wet so less is more with these.  Once I carefully applied and it dried a bit, the product feel totally weightless.  I had fun applying Ambition (pillar box red) lipstick and then a few dabs of Happiness (sunset copper) in the middle of my lips, love that combo!  It’s a much prettier dupe of CoverGirl’s Stunner duo.  I did not detect any scent/taste in these which is great.

I found Perspective (natural, dusky rose) was not very flattering on me, it accentuated the lines in my lips more than I liked.  But again, you can mix these colors so easily and make it really work for you.

I absolutely fell in love with Happiness (sunset copper) as an eyeshadow!  I do not have a shade like this in my collection and I love metallics.  I wore it with Too Faced Shadow Insurance as my base and it lasted all day long, no creasing or fading.  It can be very vibrant or subtle depending on how you apply.  Control (deep navy blue) is a little too bright for my taste but I know the really bold ladies out there will go for this one.  Perfect name for this one, if you can wear it you are in control for sure.

I did have an unfortunate incident with the applicator on Perspective, it actually detached from the handle.  I can still use it but it’s a little tricky.  I’m thinking I could probably super-glue it back in but I hope the others don’t do that!

Overall, I was very happy with the Emotional Brilliance items from LUSH.  I already see a few more shades I would love to have in my collection: Intuitive (golden lime green) and Dynamic (sheer warm peach).  $18.95 each at Lush stores and Lush.com

Right now, it looks like the Emotional Brilliance line (except the new mascara) is on sale B1G1 FREE at Lush.com.  I’m not sure how long the sale lasts so I’d say grab these now if you are curious about these now would be a great time to buy!
