This past weekend, our family had the chance to visit Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Schaumburg. If you don’t know, at Medieval Times you can view a jousting show while enjoying a fabulous dinner (or lunch) all in the theme of medieval times. It is a perfect place for a family outing, a group of friends, a unique date night, office gathering, or just because!
Upon arrival, we looked around at all the souvenirs and took a few photos by the massive Christmas tree. The lobby is so beautifully decorated and there are so many great photo opportunities before and after the show. With everything from cocktail glasses to swords, kids items, and so much more, there is truly something for everyone.
After being seated, the show was underway and soon our food began to arrive. The meal is to be eaten medieval style, without any utensils! Everything was absolutely delicious. There was chicken, soup, bread, corn on the cob, potato, even lemon bread for dessert. When the whole family enjoys the food (even your one picky child!), you know they have done something right!
While you eat, you get to experience a suspenseful, fun, and action-packed show that includes showing off beautiful horses, jousting knights, and even a king and queen. Each section of the audience roots for their knight and ours was the yellow and red knight. Ollie and Ruby both had the best time cheering for our knight and he put on such an entertaining show. Knights perform with real metal weapons and wear authentic armor. During battle scenes, real titanium swords create sparks, it looks so cool!
It is such fun to cheer on your knight (and boo the other side!) and prepare him for victory! There is constant action and sometimes it feels like time goes by so fast. The venue is set up so that there really isn’t a bad seat in the house as you are all seated around the action. The service is wonderful, the food is excellent and there are even vegetarian options.
Overall, Medieval Times was such a fun evening for the entire family and we certainly look forward to going back again. We would love to celebrate a birthday there soon!

We love doing this! We’ve been to the one in Dallas twice and had a blast. Our knight won one time and we were thrilled.
