Are you looking for fresh music to add to your day? I have had the pleasure of listening to Mat Kearney’s new album Young Love* and it is full of musical pleasures! Mat’s first single, Hey Mama, reminds me of another artist I discovered recently and loved! I read that Hey Mama describes his first meeting with the woman that he would eventually marry while she was working at an Anthropologie store. This is the kind of stuff that makes a great musician: pouring your true life into the lyrics of your songs and singing your heart out.
Young Love* is full of lyrical sunshine and each song begs for you to sing along. Mat Kearney is the singer-songwriter with a real modern feel. I’m thinking Jack Johnson with a touch of Counting Crows and a dash of Coldplay…but more modern. At the same time, the more soulful songs on this album have a real vintage feel. That’s what I like a lot about Young Love is that it has a lot of moods, just like me. Sometimes I’m up…and sometimes I’m not. Either way, he’s got you covered.
Mat Kearney goes on tour starting this month, you can find his tour dates here and see if he’s stopping into a city near you! From the sounds on the album, he would be a great artist to see live and get the full experience.
