Do you have an essentials list? I’ve found that there are just a few things I could not live without this Summer. Temperatures will be in the 90s all this week in the Chicago area so these items will really be put to the test! Let’s take a look:
Aveeno* Hydrosport Sunblock Spray SPF 85
This sunblock is designed to be applied even on wet skin so it has been branded my favorite sunblock of all time! Aveeno can do no wrong in my eyes and this spray is no exception. Not only is this a sweatproof and waterproof spray, but it has a great scent and my kids love wearing it too. They always hated when I slathered on the thick, creamy sunblock but it had to be done. Now they actually ask me for it–“Can I have some sunscreen??”–too cute. With both UVA and UVB protection, Aveeno* Hydrosport is lightweight, non-greasy, and made with Natural Lotus Complex. Also great for traveling since the spray top has a locking mechanism–no messes in your bag! A high SPF is a must for me and the kids so this little baby works out perfectly. This spray should always be applied to skin BEFORE sun exposure and rubbed in to ensure coverage.
Secret Clinical Strength Waterproof Antiperspirant/Deodorant
This antiperspirant/deodorant is the ultimate in protection for the Summer and all year round. Over the years, I probably tried every deodorant on the market and I would still sweat profusely. When Secret Clinical came on the market I made a dive for it and since then I have not bought anything else. Now that the waterproof version is available I may even stick with this one for all year round. Secret Clinical has 20% antiperspirant, the highest you can find in the drugstore, and is applied at night for extra effectiveness. I cannot praise Secret Clinical enough, it is THE ONLY antiperspirant/deodorant that keeps me dry and smelling good all day long!
Theraplex* FT Exfoliating Emollient
In Summer, I have to wear sandals or no shoes at all so Theraplex is my friend when it comes to keeping my feet soft and smooth. You can read my full review here, but I can tell you noone wants to see feet that are not taken care of. Do yourself a favor and use this exfoliating emollient every night and you won’t have to worry about it!
Organic Natural Beauty* Aloe Vera & Olive Oil Fresh Gel
This lightweight moisturizer is fantastic for this hot Summer! Take a look at my full review and praise here, but just know it has a become a favorite refresher of mine these days.
Sunglasses!
Last, but certainly not least, my sunglasses from Charlotte Russe! I cannot be outside without my sunglasses EVER, I feel like my eyes will burst and it’s certainly no good for your face when you are squinting. I love these glasses–they are big, cover plenty of my face, and even have little sparkly accents–perfect! I think these are great because they even cover the sensitive under-eye area which could always use some extra TLC. Get yourself some sunglasses, they are a must.
