Today I have some lovely new products by MUA Makeup Academy from CVS to show you! MUA is a new line developed exclusively for CVS by makeup professionals. (FYI: This MUA brand is different from the UK version bearing the same name.)
The MUA Makeup Academy line currently consists of Lip Products, False Lashes and Professional Makeup Brushes.
I was sent Lip Stain, Extreme Shimmer Lipstick, Color Intense Lipstick, Lipgloss, a Crease Brush and an All Over Shadow Brush. If you are lip product junkie like myself, then this line is going to get you excited! They have SO many different lip products in all sorts of formulations and finishes so there is really something for everyone.
Lets start with the Lip Products:
L to R:
- Luminizing Lip Gloss in Pink #101 is a medium warm pink. The formula of this gloss is creamy, opaque and super shiny without being sticky, which is a big plus. $8
- Color Intense Lipstick in Magenta #252 is a bright cool toned magenta/berry. This lipstick is very pigmented and has a smooth creamy formula. It is very comfortable to wear, non-drying and the color lasts a good 5 hours on me before I need to touch up. I cant wait to try this in more shades! $9
- Extreme Shimmer Lipstick in Frosted Nude #292 is a light nude packed with gold shimmer. It has a sheer formula that can be built up and lasts about 4 hrs, and leaves lips slightly glittery. This color isn’t very flattering on me by itself, but I found it is perfect for layering over the Magenta for a new shimmery look!
- Lip Stain in Coral #330 is a very sheer light coral. This stain has a water based formula that was very light and sheer. On the downside, this particular color was so light it barely shows up on my lips. However, the stain was very comfortable to wear and its not drying like many other lip stains i’ve tried, so maybe this would be better in a darker color.
Lip Swatches:
Professional Brushes:
These medium density brushes are so soft and lightweight, but they feel durable and well made. I haven’t experienced any shedding and they are also very easy to clean. I am really looking forward to trying other brushes from their extensive selection! (Prices range from $8-$25.)
Overall, I am seriously impressed with this new MUA line! The prices are affordable and the quality is very good. You can find them on CVS.com or in select CVS stores. (Use the search bar to find out what products they carry in a store near you.)

Hope you can decide, the selection is huge!
Even the logo looks like the UK one! I would have thought they were the same. I wish the other MUA would start shipping to the US again, but at least we have this in the meantime! Looks like a lot of great products!

Kristina, I didn’t know that MUA was different from the UK brand & that it was developed for CVS. Very interesting. I love the lipsticks on you, and the brushes do look fab. I look at both each time I go to CVS. I tried MUA false lashes & liked them a lot
