With my oily, acne-prone skin I have been accustomed to dealing with a lot of issues like blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples. Over the years I have had decent luck with a few different products at different times in my life. The cleanser I have been using lately is La Roche-Posay Effaclar Deep Cleansing Foaming Cream.
It’s a pearly white formula, on the thicker side and does foam up as the name suggests. According to the package it is formulated for daily cleansing of thick, oily skin with clogged pores. When I tell you I have never used a product with such a profound effect on my pores, I am not exaggerating. This is THE BEST pore clearing, skin smoothing cleanser that I have used to date. After just 3 days, I could see and feel a dramatic difference in my skin. With my problematic skin I always seem to have blackheads on my nose and chin and have consistently clogged areas. I am happy to say that this cleanser has done an amazing job at solving those issues.
I love the way my skin feels after cleansing with La Roche-Posay! I could actually feel my pores being more clear, almost breathable, if that makes sense? It does remind me a bit of this soap.
The La Roche-Posey Effaclar Duo Dual Action Acne Treatment is 5.5% benzoyl peroxide acne medication to be used after cleansing. I did use this as a spot treatment the first week. Honestly, after that I have not had a need for it! I will keep this on hand for breakouts in the future as I found it to be very gentle.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with the deep cleansing effect of La Roche-Posay Effaclar Deep Cleansing Foaming Cream. My pores have never been more clear and my skin has never been more smooth and even textured. The Acne Treatment is excellent but I just have not had a need for it since the first week of using the cleanser, it is that good!
You can find La Roche-Posay at Target, Walgreens, ULTA and more. The cleanser is $22.95 at ULTA and worth every penny. The acne treatment is $32.95 at ULTA and would probably last forever, it’s a generous size and you need such a small amount.

Have you tried La Roche-Posay yet?
Great post! I LOVE this stuff- it’s a great line and I am so glad they came out with effaclar.
I haven’t tried this yet but I use salicylic acid based products to control oil and benzoyl peroxide for breakouts. How’s the smell of this product?

There is just the faintest scent, it doesn’t linger, it is on the fresh side, not floral or anything. Very subtle.
