When it comes to mascara, I really enjoy trying different brands and formulas, how about you? Recently, I’ve had the chance to try Lancome* Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara as a member of the Vogue Influencer Network. According to Lancome this gorgeously-packaged mascara has an “extremely smooth and clean application, precisely defining even your hard-to-reach corners and lower lashes. Combined with the exclusively developed FiberShineTM formula, it sculpts, curls and loads each lash for the ultimate shiny lash fringe. Lift and thicken every single lash without weighing it down. Push up your lashes for your most flirty, wide open eye look.”
I love the promotional picture for this mascara, the models have that 60s look about them, total doll eyes!
I can say that I do really like the brush, it is cone shaped with a ton of bristles that are flexible and they really do get to every lash. What I found to be the best method of using this mascara was actually pulling up my eyelid to get right down to the lash line and going upwards. When applying a second (or third layer) just concentrate on the outer lashes to get that doll effect! With this brush you can also get every lash on the lower lashes, as well. I did do this and I have to say I do not prefer this look, it just seems creepy to me! It always looks great on Kim Kardashian…but I’m not Kim Kardashian.
I do agree that the mascara has a smooth application but didn’t feel like it curled or thickened my lashes. The worst part is that it will smudge right off in an instant. If you accidentally swipe your eyelashes, this stuff is gone! One swipe of the finger, poof!
Overall, you could potentially get the “doll lashes” if you make a real effort and apply properly. For me, this mascara is way too high maintenance. A $25.00 mascara that wipes off with the touch of a hand is just pointless to me.
Have you tried Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes mascara? If so, what did YOU think? What’s your favorite mascara right now?
Darnit, I’ve heard this a few times lately with the Hypnose mascaras. I’m going to have to go out and play with them myself because when I used them on clients I never had a problem…(I usually used Show, but when I did!). Thank you for the tips my love!
Really? It wiped off? I found this mascara, and all of Lancome’s mascara’s to be honest, to be some of the best in show. When they set, they’re hard like diamonds…so I’m sad you didn’t get that from it.
Mm, my all-time favorite is Dior Show though. It’s dramatic, long-wearing and just different. It doesn’t feel or act like other mascaras.
Hi Jake! Yep, it definitely swiped right off! I have to agree TOTALLY with you on Dior Show 🙂
