While I truly love trying out new skincare products there is one peril…it may not work for me and could cause breakouts. I have had some real luck lately and found some skincare products that I will continue to use, but I’ve also tried just a couple lately that didn’t work for me at all. From there, my face fought back and gave me some blemishes! Luckily, I had the tools to fight back. I was able to give the Nelsons Pure & Clear* acne care line a try at just the right time! You may have read my post on the Nelsons Pure & Clear Challenge a while back and I hope you were able to give it a try too!
I have not used an acne care system regularly since I was using Proactiv back in the day (I’d say 1998 through 2004). Proactiv really worked for me when nothing at all worked for my severely acne-prone skin. It was kind of a miracle product at the time. I think something happened and it just wasn’t working for me anymore. So I hopped around to other products, etc. etc. I did OK but still had major breakouts and nothing really worked. Fast forward to 2007 when I got pregnant with my son and my skin just changed! I had clear skin and really didn’t have to worry much about it anymore. Pretty awesome, I know. I am so thankful and hope that doesn’t ever change! I still get breakouts but it is not a DAILY occurrence as it was all of my life before 2007.
I used the Pure & Clear acne care products (almost) exclusively for about 4 weeks and do not have one single complaint about the line. Some info from Nelsons:
“The Nelsons Pure & Clear 4 step system works in synergy to create and maintain clear skin naturally and homeopathically. The Nelsons Pure & Clear range features the homeopathic remedy Sulfur 30c, known worldwide for its many skin clearing benefits, including acne.” Here’s what I used:
Step 1 – Purifying Cleansing Wash– a gel-like cleanser
Step 1 – Apricot Seed Exfoliating Wash– a gel-like exfoliating wash that I used 2 times a week (in place of the Purifying Cleansing Wash)
Step 2 – Balancing Toner – a very gentle toner
Step 3 – Nourishing Moisturizer – a very lightweight moisturizer with a nice pump bottle!
Step 4 – Acne Treatment Gel – a gel to reduce redness and swelling on any blemishes
All of these products are so gentle but so effective in keeping my face clear. The line contains tea tree oil so all the products have that scent, which I find to be fresh and appealing. The Acne Treatment Gel is WONDERFUL and when I used it on a blemish at night, it started drying it up by the next morning!
I did not experience any irritation whatsoever from any of these products and honestly I would continue to use these everyday if I did not have another product that I wanted to try. I will go back to these products any time I have a breakout for sure!
You should definitely give Pure & Clear a chance, it is gentle and I had such great results! These products are a great value at a price range of $7.75 to $13.25 each.
