I’ve now had the chance to test the two products I received from SheSpeaks. See this post for more about how I got so lucky to test products through the Walgreens Simple Skincare Program.
Simple Skincare is actually the UK’s #1 facial skincare line and it just arrived here in the US! The line has no dyes, artificial perfumes or harsh irritants and contains added vitamins.
The Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash is 100% soap free, contains added vitamins Pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E, and Bisabolol. I had to look up the definition of Bisabolol since I had never heard of it. The definition from TruthInAging.com: The primary component of the essential oil extracted from chamomile. Also known as levomenol. Functions as a skin conditioning agent. It enhances the appearance of dehydrated or damaged skin by reducing dry flaking and restoring suppleness to the skin.
While I feel like this is a wonderfully-made product, I don’t think it was the right formulation for my skin type. With my oily, acne-prone skin this moisturizing cleanser left my face feeling like it had a film on it. It’s a pearly, non-lathering cleanser (lightly scented) and is very moisturizing. I used this for one week but discontinued use after that because my face did not feel as clean as I would like.
The Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer on the other hand, was pretty much perfect for my skin type. This super-light formula contains added vitamins Pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E, as well as Glycerin and Borage Seed Oil. The definition of Borage Seed Oil from TruthInAging.com: An essential fatty acid derived from the plant Borago officinalis- a bright blue, star shaped flower. Functions as an emollient and skin-conditioning agent. It’s also believed to have a cooling, diuretic, anti-inflammatory and saline effect on the skin. As an emollient, research has demonstrated its effectiveness in reducing redness and soothing damaged & irritated skin tissue.
This moisturizer worked so perfectly with my oily, acne-prone skin that I have continued to use it every single day. It absorbs very quickly into the skin and hydrates well without a greasy feeling and never compromises my makeup. It’s really just the right consistency and I have not had an issue with any breakouts.
Overall, I would recommend the Simple Skincare line as there are several different formulations to choose from there is bound to be the right one for your skin type. The UK’s #1 facial skincare line will probably become a big hit in the US! You should be seeing Simple Skincare in your drugstores and super stores and I noticed them on Amazon.com

Have you seen the Simple Skincare line at stores yet? If so, have you tried anything? Leave a comment and let me know what you think!
Hello, I have dry skin that is very sensitive and prone to breakouts. I found the simple skin care line at target and decided to try the Replenishing Rich Moisturizer and the Night Cream. I love them both!! They leave my skin feeling soft and smooth. I haven’t had any breakouts and my skin does not feel dry anymore. This is after 2 months of using the products and I have tried everything!!! I am going to try the Day Cream for the summer because it does have a sunscreen. I’m sure I will love that also! This is the best my skin has looked in a long time and I owe it to Simple Skin Care!!
Hi Rachel! This is such great news and thank you for sharing with all of us. Your comment makes me even more excited to try additional products like the scrub very soon! I’m so happy that more and more products are coming to us with more pure ingredients that can work for so many of us. Look forward to chatting again soon :).
I also have really oily, acne-prone skin. I recently stopped using Proactiv because I my skin is growing out of that and it began to get really irritated. I currently use the Natural Acne Solutions line from Burt’s Bees and the Yes to Tomatoes Skin Clearing Mask and I have noticed a difference for the better. Thanks for letting me know what to expect from this line because I was thinking about trying it. 🙂
Hi there! Yes, I have heard (and read) of so many of us that do eventually grow out of Proactiv. I agree that the products that have really worked wonders have been the ones that are more on the natural side. My skin NEVER responded (even as a teen) to all the Clearasil-type stuff filled with benzoyl peroxide. I’ve not tried the Burts Bees line or Yes to Tomatoes so thanks so much for the tip! I appreciate it for myself and for any readers that can benefit as well. Be sure to let me know if you try anything from the Simple line and what you think of it! Chat soon :).
I would actually love to try the scrub, I have it on my list, too! I’m thinking it might be like the Aveeno Daily Brightening Scrub which I absolutely adore. It cleans your face and exfoliates and is still gentle enough for every day.
I received the Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub from SheSpeaks and really like it. I plan on buying a Simple moisturizer on my next trip to Walgreen’s.
