Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel - Rain Forest - My Highest Self

Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel – Rain Forest

Another great drugstore find I’ve worn on my nails recently is the new Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel in Rain Forest.  This shade was my absolute first choice in this new line of Revlon nail colors, it stood out that much to me.  Revlon claims it will have a “gel-like shine and up to 11 days of shatter-proof color when worn with Revlon Colorstay base & top coats.”  I did not buy the base or top coat since I don’t really have a use for a super long-wearing polish.  As a stay-at-home mom, my hands are constantly being washed and generally beat up daily.  I bought this polish because it’s new and I fell in love with the color!

These were $7.99 at the drugstores which is high for a drugstore polish.  You may also notice that this polish is smaller than other Revlons at 0.4 fl. oz.  On the plus side, there are weekly deals at CVS, Walgreens, and even Ulta where you can B1G1 50% off .  That’s when you should try to buy and get the most for your money.

I absolutely love the formula of this polish and love the color (obviously).  The Rain Forest shade was practically opaque with one coat, it’s that great.  What you see below is just two coats and it truly looks like a professional finish.

I’m showing a comparison below of a regular Revlon polish that I recently purchased, next to the Revlon ColorStay.  First up:  The difference in the brushes.  Personally, I love the ColorStay brush for its rounded edge.  It’s a matter of opinion and I’m sure the brushes are different because the polish formulas are completely different.

regular Revlon brush, Revlon ColorStay brush

Next:  Below you will see the difference in the size of a regular Revlon polish (0.5 fl. oz.) and the Revlon ColorStay (0.4 fl. oz.).

I’m so much in love with the formula, the color, and the final result of this Revlon ColorStay on my nails that I think it is worth the $7.99.  I should also tell you that the wear on this is only about two days before chipping.  As I said, I’m hard on my nails and I did not use the Revlon ColorStay base and top coats.  I have already purchased another shade and will probably buy more!

Do you think you will try Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel anytime soon?  Do you have a favorite nail polish brand?  Leave a comment, I’d love to hear what you think!

Very nice colour! I saw these in the drugstore the other day and didn’t pick them up because of the price, but looks like if there’s a colour I can’t resist, I may have to pick it up and give it a go! Great blog, I’m following now (:

Hello Tina, yes I finally managed to get the email subscription to work now i can get all your posts & not think you’ve not done any for a while. Love this nail polish, I really like Revlon, and the new brush looks good, shame about the smaller botle size. Are all the bottle going ot change to this shape as well, I kind of like the shape of them.

YAY! I subscribed to your blog a while ago too, I’ve only gotten two posts I think? I doubt if they will change all the bottles, probably just for this “gel-like” line of polishes? The formula on these is so amazing!

    Tina
I love this color! It looks really good on you and I think it would also work for my Olive skintone.

Hey Tina! I have Red Carpet, Marmalade and I THINK Cafe Pink. The first two are great but the pink color is a bit streaky. I love them and think they definitely last longer than other polishes I’ve tried. I’m a fan!

Oooo, Red Carpet & Marmalade look really pretty! I’ll stay away from that pink for sure. I still need more of the green shades!
