I love a company with heart and Moksa Organics has heart. They make soap (and more) with a conscience. From their website:
“No more bulk packaging, wasted materials, lists of ingredients a mile long that few people can pronounce, or ingredients and packaging that contribute to environmental hazards or questionable ethics. Our products will never include palm oils. Soap makers use palm oil because it’s cheap and readily available. Commercial harvesting of palms for their oil is the leading cause of the ecosystem’s loss of habitat and deforestation. Our ingredients were chosen with the least amount of environmental impact. Our packaging is tree free. We don’t support the logging industry. We use post consumer waste, recycled materials, and no virgin plastics.
Our ingredients: Certified Organic. Fair-Trade whenever possible. No chemicals.
We support: Just and Fair wages. Women’s cooperatives. Environmental advocacy groups. Sustainable businesses. Local businesses. Non-profit environmental organizations.
We’re carbon neutral!
Respect our Planet, Support Human Rights & Start a Clean Revolution!”
I’ve been using their Bohemian Forest Body Bar and loving it. First of all, the name just screamed to me that this would be my kind of soap. Something about Bohemian Forest appeals to me in a big way. I think maybe I should’ve been around for Woodstock 😉
Oh, the outdoorsy, lemony fragrance of this soap! I just love it. I was surprised at the lather that I got when I used this with my shower pouf, very bubbly. This soap is full of little bits (of the wintergreen and lemon grass) that worked as little massagers when I rubbed the bar on my arms and legs. It gets you squeaky clean and leaves behind softness to boot!
Bonus: This soap looks great in my shower. Can you say that about your soap?
Word of advice on this or any lovely bar soap that you don’t want to ruin: DO NOT let it sit in an area in your shower that gets hit with a constant stream of water!! It was fine in my shower where there is a spot that’s out of the stream of water. It stayed dry and happy. Then I moved it to our other shower and didn’t realize that water was hitting it as it sat in the little soap dish. I lost some of the soap (it started to deteriorate) because it didn’t stay dry :(. Learn from my mistake!!
Let me also say a few kind words about Moksa Organics’ Body Oil. These past few months I have acquired a great love for body oils! I was a purely lotion girl before I discovered body oils. Lotions are still needed for certain types of dry skin but I am in my glory with oils, these days! The Moksa Organics Organic Rosemary, Mint & Sage Body Oil* is just a dream! The ingredients are short and sweet: organic jojoba oil, organic sweet almond oil, our blend of pure essential oils, rosemary extract.
This particular fragrance was great for me to use for my legs and feet for my at-home pedicures, it has a very refreshing feel! Of course, I used this anywhere I would normally use lotion and usually applied this at night after my shower and gave me much-needed pampering. It leaves your skin so soft and hydrated, no dry skin in sight. So little oil is needed that this 4 oz. bottle will surely last a long time.
Why don’t you treat yourself to a little pampering and check out Moksa Organics and all the lovely soaps, oils, body butters, and bath salts they have to offer. Some lovelies I will be looking into for the future: Lavender Avignon Organic Body Bar and Organic Grapefruit Ylang Ylang Body Oil. Amazing, right??
