When you have kids it can be really tough to get an old-fashioned date with your hubby! Ray and I haven’t been on a “date” in months. He recently took a week off work for vacation and since both kids are now in school we had a few daytime dates! We headed to Kona Grill in Oakbrook for one of our outings and had a sushi lunch that was out-of-this-world.
We first enjoyed the Sweet and Spicy Shrimp appetizer:
Ray chose the Dragon Roll (crab special roll with eel and eel sauce) which was absolutely delicious. This is what I will order next time because it was so much more flavorful than what I chose. He also ordered the octopus and yellow tail sushi. I liked the yellow tail but did not try the octopus (I’m too squeamish for that one).
So….since I waited so long to post these photos…I can’t remember what was in my sushi roll!! I know the two pieces on the left are tuna rolls. They were good but I think I like spicy tuna rolls better. The sushi roll I had was quite good…wish I could figure out what it was, ha! That’s what I get for not posting this right away :(.
I also enjoyed the Rock Coconut Mojito (Bacardi rock coconut rum, pineapple, lime, mint) and could not have been happier. I will definitely order this again, so yummy!
We both enjoyed Kona Grill in Oakbrook, I had been there once before but it was Ray’s first time. I love that this location has an open-air front, where you can eat indoors but feel like you are on the patio! I felt that the prices were very reasonable for fresh sushi and well-made drinks. Kona Grill has multiple locations in Illinois and Arizona. I highly recommend it if you have a location near you!
Where did you go on your last “date”?
