Disco Inferno Manicure! - My Highest Self

Disco Inferno Manicure!

Yesterday, all I wanted to do was paint my nails instead of clean my house and get on the treadmill.  I cleaned for about two hours first thing in the morning but was seriously lacking motivation to do the treadmill.  I made a deal with myself:  walk/jog on the treadmill for at least 1.5 miles and you can give yourself a fresh manicure.  Hey, guess what, it worked!  I stayed on the treadmill for 1.65 miles (walking) and got my reward.

This manicure was inspired by a comment on this post from my dear reader (and fellow blogger) Jake Sauvage.  As soon as I read the comment, I knew that I wanted to do a purple accent nail with the gold.  From there, it just evolved.  I will call it…Disco Inferno!

If you care to see how I created this Disco Inferno, read on!

Urban Decay – SuperFreak, China Glaze – Coconut Kiss, China Glaze – Blonde Bombshell, Sally Hansen – Set the Stage, Sally Hansen – Twinkle Twinkle

STEP 1:  2 coats of Urban Decay SuperFreak, 2 Coats of China Glaze Coconut Glaze on accent nail (left hand only).

STEP 2:  1 coat of China Glaze Blonde Bombshell on top of Urban Decay SuperFreak (left hand only).

STEP 3:  One coat of China Glaze Blonde Bombshell on tip of the accent nail (left hand only).

STEP 4:  One coat each of Sally Hansen Set the Stage and Twinkle Twinkle on the accent nail (left hand only).

STEP 5:  For the accent nail on my right hand I have 2 coats of Urban Decay SuperFreak and 2 coats of Urban Decay Xanadu on the tip of the nail.

There’s something in my nature that does not allow me to do the same manicure on both hands these days!  After it was all said and done, I just could not decide which accent nail I liked better.

Which accent nail do you prefer?  Is this something that you would wear?  Give me some ideas for my next manicure, all ideas are welcome!!

I really like them both, but am leaning more towards the purple with the gold glitter tip more. I have never tried the UD nail polishes, how are they?

Thanks! I really love this set of UD polishes, they go on very smooth and have good coverage. The bottles are super tiny and kind of pricey at full price for the set so I like to wait till they have these on a REALLY good sale! UD has great sales 🙂

I LOVE the gold nail with the purple tip! It looks so edgy and polished! I think you need to paint all of your nails like that for New Years…SO cute!
