Aloe Vera Skincare by Lexli

Since our family moved from Chicago to Arizona, I have been really trying to get in tune with my skin.  Arizona life is a lot different from Chicago life and so far each and every day includes more sun exposure than has been typical for me in the past.  Being out at the pool is an (almost) daily occurrence in our new home. Summer in Arizona means even just a few minutes out in the sun equals high UV exposure. All of that sunshine can take a serious toll on your skin if you do not take the proper precautions and treat your skin right daily.  The aloe-based skincare line by Lexli arrived at the perfect time for me! Over the years, my skin has been on the oily side and now it leans more on the dry side due (mostly) to these new weather conditions. Lexli provided me with four products from their line to test out, and the aloe-based line has been outstanding as my daily routine.  All products use Organic/Pharmaceutical Grade Aloe Vera as the main ingredient. Aloe Vera is known to hydrate and cool the skin and is great for soothing sunburn, dry skin, and even acne.

Lexli Aloe-Based Cleansing Lotion has a gel consistency and creates just a tad bit of lather when applied.  I like that my face feels soothed, cleansed, and never dry after use! Nowadays, I have to eliminate any cleanser that leaves my face feeling even the slightest bit dry and this one is perfect.  I love that I can use this cleanser in the morning, before going to the pool, AND after the pool when I’m washing off all the sunscreen. This cleanser can tackle the job of removing sunscreens without drying out my face and did not cause any breakouts. Love!  The only thing I would change about this cleanser is the added fragrance, it’s just not needed in my opinion. I would also like to point out that I love using this as a body cleanser, too. Typically I just use it on my arms since they get a lot of sun as well.  It makes my skin feel refreshed and smooth!

Lexli Aloe-Based AloeGlyc Renewing Exfoliant is quite unique and I have been using this a few times a week, after cleansing at night.  The AloeGlyC ingredients list includes Glycolic Acid, Vitamin C beads, Green Tea Extract, and Vitamins A, D and E, that all work to neutralize free radical damage.  A nickel-sized amount is recommended (I used about half that my first time around) and using gentle upward and outward strokes, you smooth the exfoliator onto your face and neck.  You watch for the green Vitamin C beads to dissolve on your skin. The unique part for me is that you do not wash it off.  You allow the AloeGlyC to stay on your face for 10 to 15 minutes, then apply your moisturizer. The next morning, my face appears brighter and my skin tone more even.  After a few weeks of use, I can tell you that my skin feels smoother and my pores more clear than in months past!

Lexli Aloe-Based Tone and Balance is a spray that I use after cleansing, both day and night.  This product tones your skin, as well as adds moisture without drying the skin. The spray also restores your skin’s natural pH.  I am quite literally over-the-moon in LOVE with this spray! I cannot get enough of the cooling, soothing, overall lovely feeling on my face and my body.  I can’t decide if I love it more for my face or body, since I spritz it on multiple times throughout the day. Each time, it just puts a big smile on my face and makes my skin so happy.  I may very well be addicted to the Tone and Balance spray…and I’m ok with that!

Lexli Aloe-Based Day Moisturizer with SPF 15 is the next step in my morning routine.  While this moisturizer is more on the thick side, there is no issue with it drying down or sinking into the skin.  The very best thing is that it does not leave my face greasy and/or shiny. It’s a deal-breaker for me when any moisturizer makes my face look or feel greasy.  I just can’t stand it. This one dries down to an almost-matte finish, which is awesome! SPF is an absolute must any time I leave the house, it’s just something I cannot even think about skipping in my daily routine.  It has been great knowing that my daily moisturizer not only soothes my skin with Aloe but also protects me from those crazy UVA and UVB rays.
