Preparing My Skin for Winter Fun - My Highest Self

Preparing My Skin for Winter Fun

Here in Chicago, we truly experience Winter.  Snow, sleet, cold temperatures, and blustery wind have shown us all what it means to be a true Chicagoan.  Living in this great city means you need all the gear from boots to heavy coats to scarves and anything else you can think of.  Even though there are downsides to the cold months (ever try driving in a sudden blizzard??) we do get out as a family to enjoy the snow when it arrives.  My kids both LOVE the snow and we live *this close* to a sledding hill so that’s our favorite winter activity by far.  You haven’t lived until you have heard the squeals (joy mixed with a touch of fear) from your children going down a huge snow hill!  These are some of my favorite moments as a parent.

Snow Sledding Chicago

However, being out in the cold and snow really takes a toll on the skin.  The combination of low temperatures and wind have my skin dry and cracking in an instant.  This time around, I prepared my skin with Vaseline® Intensive Care™ Advanced Repair Fragrance Free lotion.  I applied my lotion before we went out sledding with the family instead of waiting until after.  I concentrate on my hands because they feel the effects the most.  By preparing my skin for the conditions, I got a head start on healing my dry and cracked skin!  The micro-droplets of Vaseline Jelly in Vaseline® Intensive Care™ lotions deeply moisturize and protect the skin.

best lotion for winter

I have been very happy with Vaseline® Intensive Care™ Advanced Repair Fragrance Free lotion this Winter!  I use it to prepare my skin BEFORE winter activities as well as AFTER being out in the cold.  It has kept my skin prepared for the cold and feeling extra hydrated.  Just what I need for these Chicago winters!

I participated in this sponsored campaign on behalf of Vaseline® and One2One Network. All opinions stated are my own.

Find Vaseline® Intensive Care™ at CVS stores nationwide for around $4.99.

Definitely try to moisturize before your skin gets very dry. That will help a lot.

I agree with you about sledding! We have 10 feet of snow here in MA, and I don’t know why I haven’t gone sledding yet this year…probably because of all the shoveling I’ve been doing instead. I haven’t used VICL in a few years, but I will definitely pick one up next time i’m out. I need a fragrance-free “Advanced Repair” option
