Hi everyone! I did a post a short while ago featuring my favorite pink lipsticks. Well, today I am going to be showing you 8 of the very best red lipsticks (to me at least!) Women everywhere know that red lipstick is such a classic beauty staple, I’m sure all of you have at least one in your stash. Heck, red lips were even coveted by ancient Egyptian women, who would grind up cochineal insects to get that deep red color. (Luckily for us, times have changed…)
No doubt about it, there are a million different kinds of red lipsticks out there today. I am going to help point you in the right direction with some of my personal favorites in terms of color, formula and longevity.
- Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso– The name doesn’t lie in this long lasting lippie. The warm red matte finish is good to go all day long. The only downside is that it tends to migrate outside of lip lines, but if you just get yourself a clear lip liner and you will be all set!
- Urban Decay Super Saturated Lip Color in Scandal– I think this was my first red lipstick love! It is a gorgeous red raspberry with a metallic finish. It has fantastic staying power and I always get so many compliments when I wear it. It is an exclusive color, that is only available on urbandecay.com.
- Rimmel London Colour Rush in The Redder, The Better– This is a deep vibrant red with warm undertones and it has a super glossy, shiny finish and fantastic staying power. It definitely leaves a stain behind.
- Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bachelorette– a beautiful dark reddish fuschia. This is one of the longest lasting lip products I own. Seriously, every time I wear it, it amazes me. Today for example, I ate dinner (including corn on the cob) with it on and it looked nearly perfect when I was done.
- Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Poppy– There were a lot of great looking red to choose from in this new line by Revlon, but I ended up choosing Poppy, a glossy orange/red. This doesn’t have the longest lasting formula, maybe about 4 HRS, but it is just so dang creamy and comfortable to wear.
- Zoya Matte Velvet Lipstick– Yes, Zoya, the nail polish company has branched out to lipsticks (well…kind of.) They actually don’t make this shade anymore, but I just had to include it because it is my favorite matte red! It is a seriously opaque cool toned red that lasts an average of 7 HRS. (Zoya needs to bring this back.)
- Nyx Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Chic Red– This is a smooth vivid cranberry red with a satin finish. I just love the formula of the NYX round lipsticks, they are smooth opaque and creamy. Plus this red lipstick is only $3.99 so it is a great budget buy!
- Milani Moisture Matte Lipstick in Confident– This is a great deep brick red matte. It kind of reminds me of Zoya’s formula, matte but still somewhat creamy. This shade really seems to be a favorite from Milani’s new Moisture Matte line. You can find them at CVS.

These are all so pretty! I’ve got a sample sized version of the Kat Von D but haven’t had the guts to wear it yet. Now that I know how beautiful it is, I’m going to have to give it a go. Thank-you for all the beautiful suggestions. 🙂
That Urban Decay is a pinkish-red that might actually work with my skin tone!

The Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Poppy is GORGEOUS. I need it. Now. I hope it will go with my ginger hair xD

Those are some amazing reds!! One of my favorites is, surprisingly, NYC Ultra Moist Lip Wear in Retro Red. It’s about 98 cents (believe it!!) at Walmart and it’s a beautiful, creamy red lipstick. I’m really into the Rockabilly/Vintage scene and this lipstick is a favorite among my friends and I. It doesn’t last a long time, but it’s a great color and an amazing bargain.
Awesome, it doesn’t get any better than that!
