As a mom of a little girl, I consider it my duty to instill in my daughter the I CAN DO IT attitude. Just about every day, I am telling Ruby that she can do it, whether it is reading that advanced level book, drawing something new, participating in a new sport, you name it. As girls (and women) we are often looked at as secondary creatures that can only accomplish “girls stuff”. I just refuse to accept that! I encourage my daughter to do whatever it is that she is interested in doing, with no apologies.
I’m thrilled to share the inspiring #GirlsCan campaign from CoverGirl. It promotes the empowerment of women by encouraging them to break down barriers and turn can’t into can.
CoverGirl is donating $50,000 to Dress for Success® and you can support #GirlsCan by purchasing the CoverGirl #GirlsCan Mascaras at Walmart. Two varieties available: CoverGirl Flamed Out Mascara and CoverGirl Professional All-in-One Mascara.
I like to think I am living the #GirlsCan message since I am a stay-at-home mom that also earns an income doing the things I love. I think the perception is that you can either be a SAHM OR go to work every day to earn an income. I am so proud that I am outside of that box, a girl living my dream! I have more than one at-home business and brainstorming new ideas daily. I am my own boss and able to be there for my kids every single day. I thank my lucky stars for all of these blessings. I will continue tell my daughter that #GirlsCan, no matter what.
My look above includes my favorite eyeshadow palette and lipstick from CoverGirl as well as the CoverGirl Professional All-in-One Mascara.

Nope I don’t have any #GirlsCan moments
What is that lipstick? Love! I stood up for women at my university and talked to the boys about a phenomenon there where boys (who outnumber girls 8-1) label girls as bitches if they turn down a date. The boys have names and acronyms for theses girls that puts the blame on them, tells them they are not so pretty that they should turn down a date, that they too full of themselves. I asked them to consider that maybe she’s just not into you, or maybe she’s at Uni to study, and to stand up for respect towards women if their buddies use these names or acronyms.

My #GirlsCan moment comes whenever one of my clients compliments me on a job well done–and here I am, working from home with a baby to watch, a house to run, AND writing complex legal arguments.

I have almost all girls in my family and they prove everyday that #GirlsCan.
My #GirlsCan moment is that I can fix dripping faucets. I set my mind to fixing the plumbing in my home, and now I can fix any faucet leak and replace faucets on my own!
