Easy Valentine's Day Makeup - My Highest Self

Easy Valentine’s Day Makeup

Easy Makeup for Valentines DayAhhh…February, the month of love! I remember when my Fiancé and I were just dating (and before our children) Valentine’s Day was always so special and romantic. The night was usually loaded with romantic gifts, one night getaways and chocolates. The whole nine yards. While those days were fun and special, it’s not really practical anymore. Between trying to find a sitter and being more frugal with our money, we usually just end up going out to dinner with the kids, which is still fun. Valentine’s Day is all about love, and we certainly love them!

Anyway, I’m here because I have a simple, step-by-step tutorial to show you how to get a flattering and feminine Valentine’s Day makeup look! It’s fairly simple and should take an average 10-15 minutes, so it’s great if you don’t have a lot of time to spend getting ready.

Valentines Day Makeup Products Used

Obviously you can use as much makeup as you are comfortable with, but these are my picks for an easy, flawless look.

Foundation & Blush

First step is to apply some foundation or BB cream. I love the Revlon Colorstay for Dry/Normal skin because it gives a nice finish without being too dewy or matte. I apply it with my Real Techniques sponge to get a soft, even finish. Then, add some of your favorite blush slightly behind the apples of your cheeks and blend upward. I chose a blush from Mally Beauty’s 24/7 Professional Blush System.

Highlight & Eyeshadow

This highlighting step is optional, but I think it adds a nice subtle glow and really makes your features pop. Apply a liquid or cream highlight right above your cheekbone, under your brow line or on your cupids bow. I used the highlighter that is on the other side of the Mally Blush Palette. Next take a shimmering champagne or rose gold eyeshadow and apply over your entire lid and into the inner corner.

Crease Shadow & Mascara

Next, to add some definition, add a slightly darker taupe/brown shadow color to the crease of your lid and blend slightly. I used Silk Teddy for my lid and Push-up for my crease. Both are from the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette. Next, apply some mascara…I’m sure you all know how to do that! I used my new favorite, Maybelline’s Lash Sensational for a fluttery look.

Brows & Lips

This step is also optional, but when you fill in your brows it really helps frame the face and make you look more “put together.” I’m a fan of simple brows, so I love using Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow brow gel for a quick and easy process. Using short strokes, swipe it up and over. If you’re not a fan of brow color, try this clear liner tip to at least keep them in place! Lastly, pick your favorite lip color. I chose the color Sweet, a feminine shimmering golden pink from Tarte’s Lip Surgence lip lustre line.

Finished Valentines Day Lok

Voilà, easy peasy! However, if you want a more “glam” Valentines Day makeup look, just use a red lip product instead, do some quick curls and now you’re va-va-voom! I used Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bachelorette. (Don’t worry, it’s kiss proof!)

Very pretty look, Kristina! You really can wear any lipstick shade on your gorgeous lips. I think I have the TF Natural palette and I’ve never used it. I am going to go hunt for it and give it a go this week! PS Your tutorial photos are fabulous!
