If you have not perused the beauty section at Victoria’s Secret lately, you have sadly been missing out.  Some of the latest in VS Makeup includes Limited Edition Metallized Eye Shadow and Illuminating Face Powder.  These are great gifts for the makeup lover on your list.  Fabulous gifts for yourself too, especially for a hot New Year’s Eve look!  Read on for details and swatches…

What you see here is the Illuminating Face Powder in Next to Nude (beige/champagne) and Limited Edition Metallized Eye Shadow in Magnetic (slate blue) and Gold Card (gold).

Victoria’s Secret describes the Metallized Eye Shadow as a hybrid-texture shadow and I can attest to that! They have the look and feel of a baked shadow at first but when you swatch you get the softest, silkiest eye shadow.  The pigment on both Gold Card and Magnetic is absolutely gorgeous.  The shimmer is so finely milled, it is perfection. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance as my base and both stayed put all day with no creasing or problems with fallout.  I found I liked it best to apply these with my fingers to achieve the look I wanted.  You could do a subtle metallic eye or a bold metallic eye (my personal favorite) with these shadows, they are easily buildable.

The Illuminating Face Powder in Next to Nude may have made it to my top 3 favorite highlighters!  This gorgeous champagne shade adds the prettiest sheen to my face when applied to top of cheekbones and down the nose.  You truly can sweep this all over your face for a beautiful, yet subtle glow, that won’t soon be forgotten.  I have said this before, but when I added highlighting to my makeup routine, it changed my life!  I think it adds another dimension of beauty and I urge you to try it if you haven’t.

You can find the Limited Edition Metallized Eye Shadow in 5 shades ($12) and Illuminating Face Powder ($18) in store and at VictoriasSecret.com.

Hi, I have not been in a VS for a very long time, but your post makes it clear things have changed in their beauty aisle. I am even more excited to get over there this Christmas to shop for myself. LOL
